Sorry it has been a while on my log. I just didn't have time to post lately.
I have been working out and will start to repost hopefully this weekend.
I had a great meet this weekend and did very well. I tied my American Bench Record and set a new National Bench Record for 220 lb. Class - Master I in my other Federation. I hit 2 lifts and just missed my third lift. I just missing it by inches and could not lock out my right arm by about 3 inches. Man it was so close.
I do want to give a thanks to everyone for your support and Special Thanks to Joe (JoeBear) and Mike Campbell for traveling down from Michigan to help on lift-offs, pictures and just over all support. You guys were great.
God Bless and Keep it Raw.
Jim

Doug, I knew you would ask. Now before I even go into numbers - I want you to realize how strict this lifting is. (I call it brutal strict). It is much stricter than Raw or any other Federation that I have ever seen - (not talking down RAW or any Federation). Raw is the next thing to this. Bench rules - 5 points of contact. 1). Feet have to be flat (no arching) - no movement at all in the lift. (2 points). 2). Butt has to be on bench - no side-to-side movement. (1 point). 3). Both shoulder have to be in contact and have no side-to-side movement. (1 point). 4). Head must stay in contact on bench - no movement. 5). BAR MUST STOP MOTIONLESS ON CHEST BEFORE THEY SIGNAL PRESS COMMAND - If bar is moving at all - judge will not call for press. 6). 3 judges - have to hit 2 of 3 lights. (* This strictness knocks my RAW presses down around 25 to 35 lbs.) I am not knocking RAW - I love this organization - It is just stricter and different. When you hit a lift you know you earned it - no questions asked. Example: We had a APF guy come in. Big 275 - equipped lifter and he was bragging he could lift 700 lbs. Bench on 1st attempt and he was going for 750 lbs. Bench on 3rd attempt. He couldn't even come close on 650 lbs. He bombed all 3 lifts badly. Form was horrific. (This Federation has both Unequipped and Equipped divisions). I have two videos 2nd attempt (336 lbs - National and American Record) - Good. 3rd attempt (341.5 lbs.) - missed by not locking out right arm. It was so close - just wouldn't go up anymore. I am really happy with my lifting and felt I put it all on the table. I had nothing left on the 3rd. Have to work on right side strength. Believe that I could bump up 10 more lbs. Ask JoeBear - he couldn't believe the strictness. Squat is way below parallel. And deadlift - no pumping and downward motion allowed. They lift in kilos so you have to a lot of conversion in this Fed. This was for the 220 lb. Master I class - unequipped bench. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVLn46VIg2kwww.youtube.com/watch?v=sK_WWlO4WK4If you have any suggestions on training please let me know. God Bless, Jim

You looked real good Jimbo !
another egg for breakfast and you would have hit the 341.5 !
* one observation- MAYBE work on tucking the elbows a little more on the way down, if you can do it comfortably.
( My brother apologizes for the video quality, he's all thumbs when it comes to tech stuff )
again, GREAT JOB !

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have not fallen off the earth and still training hard at this time. Probably harder than ever.
I have been very busy trying to keep up with the job, Raw Records, setting up a State meet in Illinois and just trying to find time for my family.
I have completed the World and National Deadlift Records for the Federation and they should be posted soon. Congratulations to everyone on their records and I will try to update everything from Nationals and some other meets once I get them from Paul.
Back to training. I am working out about 4 to 5 days a week. I find it is easier to break up the routines and not hit volume so much. Seem to recover much faster.
I have started back in on Deadlift on Squat and well as changing my routine on bench and still hitting arm and accessory work at the same time.
I will try to post something as I go so everyone a see if I need to change anything in the future.
I am in my busy season at work and find it is just too much to try to keep up with the everyday log thing and still get everything else done too. Season should wind down some in the next month or so and that should allow me to post more often.
I also have been going to therapy on my back and determined that I possibly have a short leg on my left side which is causing all the problems. But, we are working on correcting the problem and think that over time I can go Full Power again. Man, I can't wait. I seems that my left leg is short about a half inch due to possible injury in the past or just structural genetics. So they think that we can build up the shoe and compensate. I will see how it goes.
Also, they have determined that the 5th lumbar has been fractured in half - but, that has healed and should not cause me any problems. (Been thrown around to much in Aikido in the past). So I am slowly putting myself back together. Guess that is why this is a long term sport for me - and I hope to be doing it for the next 30 years.
Again I just want to thank everyone for there support in the past and let you all know that the people here make this the greatest sport around.
God Bless everyone and keep safe in your training.
Jim

Echo Chancey, Jim. What you do for the fed is awesome, and I appreciate it too!
Thanks for the update on why we haven't seen you around. I'm glad you're getting straightened out, and once the busy season ends, get back to logging.
ROGER the 4 workouts/week plan! I swithced to that years ago and I really echo you 110% on that! Recovery rocks, dude!
God Bless!
