Good work! Be patient - the rewards will be worth the wait (bigger bench, bigger DL).

You might hate 'em, but you are no slouch! With your bench and what I could guess is your 1RM on squats and deads, you could put up a SERIOUS total in a full power meet! Of course, your bench is still in the "good grief" category.....
:')
God Bless.

Don - what are your goals for the Feb 14 meet? You are a 425+ bencher right? I think that will break the NH APF Bench record for the 165s.

Don't shoot yourself in the foot big guy! How much do you have to lose for the weight class, and how much could you do just drying out a day or three before weigh ins?
All the best.
God Bless.

Okay, I want to make sure I understand this correctly. You do floor presses up to 365x3, then on the flat bench you do 315x4, then you work your triceps, then you do 30 minutes of cardio, then for the heck of it you do 340 AND IT FEELS HARD....... My heart bleeds for you! Dang, 340 feels hard to me too, when it's pinning me down to the bench.....on my first try...... You are a bench pressing MACHINE!!!!!!!
Good luck with the bodyweight!
God BLess.

Thank you for the encouragement. I just got the Westside video for Benching. Have any of you tried it and what do you think about it?

I've tried some of the Westside periodization stuff. With some success. The one thing I have gravitated toward...and I think the guys at elitefts have too, is changing up the Main exercise *every week* instead of every three weeks.
That's because if you have 3 or 4 MEs in the rotation, it could be a month or more between working that particular ME / slice of your ROM.

Good luck on the weight. You should be done pressing for now before the meet. Right? You must have incredible recovery to press like you have over the last 5 days or so. Rest up big guy!
