My training partner Nate Matthews, who is now 57, competed at the 100 RAW World Meet today in Erie, PA. He weighed in at 229. He squatted 461, bench 396 and pulled 618. Totaled 1476. He was quite disappointed in the pull. He is used to pulling around 650 but just didn't have it today. He also curled 154.

Switching to a more conjugate style of training. I DO NOT believe in ME work using the conjugate system. I think its very very dangerous training that way. However, reps are always a good thing. My right knee is bothering me a lot on the right side of my knee from the top to the bottom of the knee. Cannot put a lot of pressure on it at a certain angles so I'm gonna have to train around it. Also gonna try and do full body training for a little while going heavy lower/light upper one day and heavy upper/light lower the following. I bought a house with many many many projects so full body will help cut down on the time I'm training. I'm starting to believe that the constant pounding of the same movement is starting to affect me and in the long run, I think I'm gonna have to switch it up more often until I start prepping for a meet. Being short, I use a lot of legs when I pull and I noticed tonight pulling from pin 2 just below the knee, it's extremely difficult for me. I think those pulls will help my back get a lot stronger since the pull at that angle is the furthest I am away from the bar.

Putting the ego aside is like trying to put a crack addict thru rehab. Well, I don't really know if that's true, but its got to be a justified comparison in my mind. I don't know that there is a better exercise for the abs than high rep pulls.

11-6-16 Bench up to 225 for 9 singles 3 diff grips done for speed flat db press x 25 reps tri ext x 30 reps lateral ext x 20 reps bb row x 25 reps db hammers x 25 reps
1 set ea on body work. had a few workouts between this and last post. mostly 5-10 rep range. this felt good.

12-7-16 Bench press reverse bands raw up to 475x1 missed 515 then add slingshot at 515x1 535x1 Triceps and upper back assistance work also.
Never done a reverse band bench press. Yea you can do more weight but its odd because at some point in the lift it catches you and makes you work very hard very quickly. It certainly teaches you to explode off the chest so you can lock the weight out which helps me because I struggle with lockout.

12-15-16 Bench floor press up to 335x1. Lots of assistance after. One exercise was using a fat bar w/ 255 on the bench and doing 5's from 4 board down to a 1 board all in one set 4/3/2/1 board. Brutal.
