Thanks guys. A brief update. Initial ortho visit, not promising. I have an MRI scheduled for Monday, that will tell the tale. The particular doc I went to does all the shoulder and elbow stuff in our area, I have a follow-up with him the 25th.
Williamson, I deadlift conventional, toes almost straight ahead.
3Speed, that puts a whole new meaning to "toe tapping"..... so far I've had to backspace a lot more than usual, just saying....
(insert smiley here)
Will keep yall updated.
God Bless.

Williamson, I deadlift conventional, toes almost straight ahead. I know it doesn't help much now, but I believe that pointing your toes out is a big help in preventing bicep injuries. I hope you recover quickly, and might try adjusting your stance in the future.

I CAN SQUAT!!!!!!!!
Okay, I can "sort of squat". Smith machine, about 50%, but it's definitely started my day off on a good note! Praise the LORD!
God Bless.

That's great that the surgeon can get you in so soon. I hope that the operation is a success, and that you are back to the gym in record time.

This is 3speed typing.
Doug called me this evening. I am not going into any detail here. I will leave that to Doug. I just wanted to relay that he came through his surgery just fine. He is drugged up a little so it might be a little while before he updates his condition.
Looking forward to seeing you lifting again bro.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes! And thanks 3Speed for passing that tidbit along.
Just got home from the post-op. I go back in 12 days to get the staples out. In about 5 weeks they'll start straightening my arm out little by little with progressively straighter splints. The doc is pleased how well the reattachment went. The tendon was 90% torn, which means it was still 10% good. :')))
The surgery site is practically pain-free. The weight of the splint actually hurts more than the incision... go figure... Anyway, the nurse said I could quit taking the meds. So I can say goodbye to the vicodinnnnnzzzzzzzz....
:'))
Will keep yall posted. Again, thanks for the prayers and well wishes!!
God bless!

Congrats on the successful surgery. No doubt that all the time you have put in at the gym aided the doc and will aid in your quick and successful recovery.
We are with you.

Update:
Yesterday was my first day of therapy (not to be confused with rehab). Trying to stretch the tendon a little at the time. OOOOOUUUUUCCCCCHHHHHH!!! Let's just leave it at that.
Still can't use left hand, boy this typing thing is going slow!!! :') But I'm doing lots of unilateral stuff and hitting some legs. Not supposed to use the smith machine for squatting yet.
All in all it's going as expected, which is definitely a blessing! Gotta run, class starts one minute ago. :')
God bless!

Dopar - I had to go through that after my achilles tendon rupture. It felt like the tendon was going to snap again during the therapy. What is the expected recovery time for you?
