Your memory is the second thing to go. I don't remember what was the first thing to go.

Your memory is the second thing to go. I don't remember what was the first thing to go. Musta been hair..... ;D Deadlift: 455x4 singles, then 455x3 I can't predict the future, but past experience has shown that I have a high probability of being sore...... ;D God BLess.

GOOD bench day today. The weight isn't that big a deal, but the lack of the "rusty" feeling in my shoulders is. Did 225 for a 3x5, all paused, and it felt GOOD for a change. Had a little time so I did a 225x3x5 on the declines and that felt good too! Thanks to the LORD for progress!
God Bless.

Great news Doug!!
When you have been injured and you finally get to where it just feels right when you do it, a little celebrating is allowed.

Amen brother! Gotta agree with 3speed.
On another note...nothing wrong at all with a metamucil and geritol! A little extra fiber makes you feel like a new man! :-) That's why my breakfast is raisin bran and cheerios every morning!

Thanks all! It feels GOOD to be back! Squatted yesterday. Since we missed most of last week due to snow I modified the weights a little. Was supposed to do 365 for 3x3 last week, and 385 this week. Did 365x3, 3853x, 365x3. Went well, only had moderate soreness. Good Lord willing, next week I'll put the belt back on and go up to 405.
God Bless.

I second that. Seems like your bench is moving up again and the shoulder stays alright, along with some serious deadlift singles. (and triples, are there gonna be 4 reps next week??) Truly inspiring and your support has always been helpful.

Thanks Joe and Dan. I appreciate that!
Deadlift day! Deficit warmups: 135x10 225x5 315x3 405x1 Felt plenty warm, straight to working sets from there: 475x5 singles, 15-second Chancey Hold (tm) on the last rep.
30 minutes, in-n-out.
Time to run check and see what that Nuckols kid has been up to!
God Bless.

Singles... nice..
If you train with the singles, you will be able to lift heavier more often and not be as sore since you are simulating only certain muscle fibers... The more often you lift something, heavy.. the bigger and stronger you will become...
The synaptic facilitation will develop and the body's automatic response systems take over and the results will be surprising.. improved technique, increased recovery (better GPP) and overall increased strength both core and relative to your lifts..
Keep it up..

Thanks, Aaron. That synaptic facilitation is what I'm all about!
(insert big, toothy smiley here)
I'm a firm believer in getting one heckuva workout with minimal soreness.
Did bench today: 135x15 185x5, p 235x3x5, p Took 275, comp style, to find how it felt. NO shoulder pain to report! Thank the LORD!!!
Tricep hammers: 70x3x8
1 set of Chiropractor, done.
:')
God Bless.

Sorry to hear this my friend. Take it from an experienced patient, do what the doc says. A little time off won't kill you. You might even come back stronger. Less chatty? You have 10 toes............just saying.
