What a great holiday! I am paying for it this week. The gym was closed and I had to lift back to back--back &biceps and turn around today and do Triceps & shoulders. Difficult but I will manage.
The best news of the week was given to me by the surgeon on my 8 week post surgury check-up. I am released from rehab and able to start lifting legs light. Donjoy made me a nice custom brace and I am looking forward to getting that 2" I lost back.
Highlights from yesterday
Low rows 300lbs x 15 for 5 sets close grip
BB rows 365x5 heaviest set
Hammer DB curls
worked up to 80's for 5 reps
lots of other little stuff
30 minutes cardio weight 279lbs
Tonight
Triceps
Close grips
top set 405x5
BB skullcrushers
4 sets of 10 with 225lbs 1 set 10 with 275lbs
Pushowns till I was sick of em
DB laying tricep extentions
80lbs DB x 8 for 3 sets
Lots of laterals no heavy shoulders this week, that will happen next week
Hope everyone had a nice 4th
The little fella, fatty

Today was to be chest day. I usually do this on Mondays but felt I needed 1 extra day for recovery due to last weeks schedule. Weight is down a bit, messed around most of the day. Weight was right at 275lbs. As always Raw Bench: 225x5 for 5 sets 315x5 405x5 455x1 500x1 very easy, great handoff as well, this can make or break you. 515x0 "Boo Hiss", totally my bad, i got out of the grove on the descent and I missed it. I will crush this puny weight next week. better show up Mr. 515lb 'cause I am gonna kick your donkey come Monday. I have to stew all week for this miss! 475x2 both paused 500x1 --hey, I made it into the raw 500lb club twice today 315x20 Bench to the throat: 275x5 315x5 375x5 for 2 sets Incline fly 80x failure for 3 sets Doesn't look like much but I was spent. I am hoping for at least one set over 515lbs next week Fatty Train hard, train safe and take a child hunting or fishing so they too, can enjoy the outdoors I memorized that all on my own

500 twice in one session? I wouldn't worry one whit about the 515! It'll be there next week and I 'spect you'll take round two. 375x5x2 to the throat? Holy cow!!!!!!!! (I like that signoff.) God Bless!

I got outta my bench groove yesterday on 1 set, this morning I woke up to one nice and sore right rear delt. I am taking today off and icing and have massage therapy tomorrow on it. So hopefully, it will be healed and not feel so "dinged" tomorrow.
Another thing to keep in mind: Equipped lifters have alot more assistance in staying in that benchpress groove, a raw lifter can completely blow thier groove in several diffrent ways. Just when you think, you got the bull by the horns---you end up with a sore butt or sore rear delt in my case..
Peace and get into the gym

Those horns can be dangerous - especially with that much weight behind them.
Incredible benching!! I hope all is well with your shoulder.

Fatty, Extremely impressive workout! Those benchpresses to the throat (JM's?) do they work front delts as well as tricep. Have you done much board or floor press? Good Luck with the 515.

Well thanks everyone for your support. To be injured in the iron game is normal, to really pop the bodies potential I feel you have to train balls out--leave it all in there and occationally you get bit. I will live, it is sore BooHoo . I hope to be doing back tomorrow, my rear delts will dictate how this goes.
Thank you 3speed, Thomas and Mathnerd I am no diffrent then you guys--just banging away.
RB, The benching to throat on chest day is an elbows held wide and isolating my pecs. I bring the bar down to my throat, or as close as i can, and pop it up. I am trying hard to get my chest strength near my triceps strength. I saw these first by reading everyones logs and thought, I gotta give em a go. I do BB skullcrusher best, I think , was 295x5, my JM's best is 275x8.
I used to do alot of boards and now I don't, i just went away from em, i wasn't getting a worthwhile return on the time spent.
I do Floor presses, I actually enjoy them very much.
But here is my thoughts: I am really strong on Floorpresses and actually pause it about maybe 2" from my chest. Well i believe it is taking out alittle of my weak link, my chest, so I am doing more and more of heavy flys to failure, bench to throat anything i feel may bring my chest to my triceps. A couple weeks ago I smoked 555lbs on the Floorpress. I want that weight but just 2" farther down. My chest needs to get stronger and then maybe be I will considered strong---I can hope.
Thanks again, it was very nice of everyone. I appreciate your support.

Back and biceps
Took it quite slow and really paid attention to what my body was telling me. It took me quite a while to find the right angle to attack my back at that didn't cause my rear delt to scream. I found it and got a good workout.
I did drop the weight down and did higher reps but managed to get a good pump thru my entire lats. I believe this injury to be a strain from my right rear delt to my right rhomboid. It will pass and I should be full throttle again next week, I hope.
Pulldowns
6sets of 20
1 arm cable rows 4x15
straight arm pulldowns 3x20
Biceps
DB preacher's 70x8x4
lying cable curls to face 3x15
light db curl 2sets x15
Obviously, no rear delts or trap training tonight, did do 30 minutes of cardio and weighed in at 275lbs.
Just gotta bite my lip and get thru this as smoothly as possible

Shoulders and Tri's
Triceps
BB skullcrushers 135x10 3 sets 185x10 225x10 3 sets 275x8
Shoulders
BB front press 225x20 275x10 315x8 225x20
Tricep pushdowns
about 5 sets of of 20 w/ stack, alternating grips
DB laying extentions 60x10 3 sets
45 degree BB skullcrushers
These still suck, I put them at the end of the Tri workout to be able to use alittle lighter weight and still finish strong 3 sets of 135 x10
4 sets of DB side laterals to failure
No cardio, did do rehab for my Left quad and knee
Tired, bet a drank 2 gallons of water and still lost 3.
I am still being a touch tentitive, too close to meet time to not use my head and stay away from a bad tear.
Had massage therapy today, she said it was pretty swollen and to stay outta the gym a week or so---right. They just don't get it?
Be bangin' on Monday
Peace
Fatty

Keep hitting it Fatty , I know you will train smart and work around - through your injuries . You are right about the massage therapist "just not getting it" had to chuckle at that . Keep us posted on your progress big guy . Been studying your posts - logs to see what I can apply to my own training .

Roger that! A little caution, disregard advice from the doc, you should be good to go! (Hmmm.........)
Still looking good big guy! Outstanding accessory work even if you're not satisfied with the skullcrushers!
God Bless.

Personally, I don't like em. I saw little in the way of gains and alot on discomfort on how my shoulders felt. I have read alot about how people like the amount of weight you can handle, but this movement is more risky then say a floor press. Both are partial movements but declines are at an odd angle and with added weight, my view would be more chance of injury. If they work for some lifters on here, awesome, I am not talking bad. But for me they aren't time worthy. I felt like I was getting more for my bench by doing other exercises. $.02 fatty Thanks guys for the nice supportive posts, someday I hope to shock and awe you men and get some desent weight on that bar

Thanks for the comment on the declines. I've been looking at them recently but have not been to keen on the safety issue. Your's are not the only comments about them I 've seeen that discount their inclusion with so many other exersices available for the bench.
