Well, I have to say it. 225x12 on the inclines for a supplemental workout is tortuous, but impressive!
Nice squatting, C! No comment on how it felt? I'm guessing it felt pretty good considering you went back for more, kinda like a big ole bowl of ice cream. :')
God Bless!

They went well Doug. I think I will open around 410, to get on the board, then I will nail 460, and probably take 480 for a ride on my 3rd.

Solid plan! 410 is your last warmup, 460 is money, and 480 is....... conservative....?....... ;')
I'm stoked for you. Can't WAIT for the results!!! Since the first time seeing you lift, I knew you were a great ole mean grizzly waiting to happen. Here it comes!
God Bless!

You are looking very strong, Chancey. Very strong indeed, and with a sound plan. Nice squatting. I still can't believe how much you've increased in 6 months. It would take me 6 light years to make that kind of improvement!!

I appreciate the words but I always thought I could squat it was just the glaring depth issue. It wasn’t like I was doing partials but I was right on the hairy edge to a couple of inches high. Well, we all know that a couple inches is huge in anything that requires heavy weight. I was also used to the heavy weight on my back. So, I like to think I focused on a weakness (depth) and dialed it in. We will find out soon how well I did.
I’m hoping someday to meet someone in my area that can offer me further help. I would travel an hour easy to squat with someone who was a technical guru – a 3speed type. I truly beleive I'm capable of more weight.

It's too bad you're not closer to us. We're in northeast Connecticut. One of my training partners is a textbook squatter and deadlifter. He's a 198er, and Friday his last two sets were 545 x 4, & 585 x 1. They looked good to, butt to the boards.
We were at a competition in in Vermont last year where he deadlifted 650.
If you ever want to come down and work out with us, let me know, and we can make arrangements.

I'm envious. Nothing better than training with someone stronger. Unfortunately, being a home gymrat, my training partner is a sleeping dog over in the corner of the room. On the up side, he doesn't give me nasty looks when I yell and spend too much time in the squat rack!

Week 8 Bench
Rot. Cuff Prehab.
Warmup Bench
45 x 20 135 x 12 185 x 6 235 x 4 295 x 2 345 x 1
Bench W/Pause
390 x 1 (1 sec) 390 x 1 (good 2 sec) 390 x 1 (3 sec )
2-Board Bench
435 x 0 halfway, getting a little cocky 405 x 2
I decided right away to drop the 6 singles of 390 even if 3 were TNG and I think I could’ve done it. I was hungry to go after 400 but the little voice in my head said no. I don’t want my best bench day to be 2 weeks out. Good reps – made sure bar was stationary before descent. Takes a little longer to calm down when you lift off yourself. Work up to my opener Saturday and then I’m done. Looking like 360. This is the best my upper body has felt in about 8 months.

Oh boy! Here we go. This is how the post was gonna start before Mr. 3speed posted.
I know this goes against the advice 3speed has given me but I wanted to really get in a quick DL session up to my opener and I screwed up my planning. I wasn't going to DL closer than 14 days out but I don't feel any worse for the wear and will be plenty ready come meet day. Also, wanted to feel good about this opener.
DL (work up to opener)
135 x 5 225 x 5 315 x 3 405 x 1 475 x 1 (belt here out) 520 x 1
That's it. No problem. 10 days to rest and I have between the 4th and the meet (7th) off. Guaranteed to get plenty of rest.
520/560/580-600

Echox2 with 520 PLUS CHAINS!!!!
Rock the house down Chancey! And just because, put icy hot on the back for a day or two and take a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory or two for a coupla days. Just because.
I'm secretly rooting for your 600. But 580 will still be AWESOME!!!!!
God Bless!
