Made a routine change since I am 5 weeks out from the meet. Dropping the shirt till after raw meet. Need to work more raw strength anyway. Doing a pretty simple westside style training for the meet. will do floor press this week, band bench next week, 3 board third week, and one more thing that I have not come up with yet. Got the one arm db press from Mike Womack, an 871 wabdl 275 champ who uses a single F6. helps with stabilization and leg drive. could really tell today. felt good not having to mess around with the shirt today and just go in and work. I hope this will pay off. the 305 on the f. press felt REAL HEAVY! Anyway, yall have a great day. chad

Just a FYI: 305 IS real heavy! Yall fellas that bench press with squat weight, yall tickle me! I get a kick out of the weights yall post, that is just mind boggleing to me. (Note to self: drop the "e", add "ing"......) Typo....my bad.....
One arm dumbell presses.....way too intense for me......enjoy......
Nice work big guy!
God Bless.

The 300 bench didn't come through on this machine, but that 468 was money!!!!!
I just have one question, how did they back that truck up onto the spotter stand? Man that dude was HUGE! I mean Bigfoot sees this guy and says "you are a huge dude"!!!!
Excellent, Chad! One day I'm going to start posting videos somewhere. I just have to get motivated.......
Thanks!
God Bless.

Wow, nice work on the 468. It looked tought but you hang in there and smoked it. Your raw looked like you were putting on a clinic - perfect.

Thanks chancey. That raw bench was about a year ago, have been concentrating more on shirt this past year, so we will see on Feb. 24 how my raw bench is now. That 468 came out of groove toward the top. was a little difficult. Thanks for all the support guys. chad

Thanks Doug. Not sure why the 300 raw would not work. hoping for better raw numbers on the 24th of Feb. chad I have some funky configuration on this computer, usually I have to wait til I get home to watch ANY video. Needless to say I was way tickled to get to see the 468! (FYI: that's the weight of the rear end of a '96 Tacoma 2 wheel drive with a bucket of dirt in the back.....that you benched.....) ;D God Bless!

Now thats funny Doug! Check this out: got up at 4am to get in my workout before school. Went down to the gym, was getting out of the car (was about 30 this morning, miss. remember) and not only the gym, but the entire blocks power went out. Just stood by the car for a second, thinking how stupid I am for getting out of a warm bed to do this, drove home and went back to sleep. Anyway, speed work this afternoon. chad

I feel your pain!
Three Januarys ago. Got up at 5:00. No power in the house, snow on the ground. Got my clothes for work and drove to the gym...... (waiting for Bill Engvall to say "here's your sign").... got to the gym, they're closed but the manager lets me in. The TVs in the gym have the "closings and delays" which promptly mentions my school......
Soooooo....... I workout, go to change clothes, and realized that in the dark at the house I had brought one each from two different pair of shoes to go to work in.......
The story goes on, but I digress.......
:')
Have a good workout this afternoon.
God Bless!

8 sets of floor presses? 8 SETS OF FLOOR PRESSES? ? AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!! I found a way to tinker with the chains to simulate the feel of kettlebells on a bar (the whole swinging/stabilizer thing). I know it's not like the real deal, but for now it really made a difference on the squatting. The more I read about the kettlebells the more intriguing they are. I doubt I go right out and buy a set (remember: NC teacher salary......) but hopefully I can find little tricks to simulate here and there. Awesome log updates, all of them! God Bless.

Check out power systems in Knoxville. They make their own line of kettlebells that is better priced than dragon door. dragon door is still the best made, but the power systems bells are not bad. powersystems.com I believe is their site.

log updated. these last four weeks before the meet, I will go on Sundays and Wed. ME will be sundays and DE on Wed. Is easier cause I can take my time more, especially on Wed. cause my team doesn't workout on Wed. Everything went good today. Would have liked more on the band bench, but thought 205 was good since I have not done those in a few weeks. Have done 105 w/doubled blue bands about two weeks or so ago. Will try and do that again probably week after next. Not sure if I need to do speed bench or not. It is great for shirt benching, but not sure if I am getting much out of it for raw benching. May just call Louie Simmons at WSB and get it from the master. Real nice guy, BTW. Have talked to him a couple of time on the phone and he is real cool and down to earth. Nice guy. Yall have a good Sunday.
God Bless, chad

log updated. Really pleased with todays workout. should have gone with more bar wt. on the speed bench. maybe 185 + bands next week. Was really pleased with the raw board presses. had not planned on using the 1 board, but figured I needed to work as close to the chest as I could right now. went better than I expected. Anyway, two more weeks of heavy, hard work, then meet week. Not really sure what I should do during meet week. Have done different things like my opener on Monday before the meet. Anyone do stuff different? I'm just wanting some different opinions. yall have a good rest of the week. Chad

If I had a clue what doubled green minis was I'd sure mention that in the post. I know it's bands but I haven't a clue what the change in resistance is. Either way the 2 and 1 boards looked great! Who cares if there was help on #2 at 320? You had just done 315!
On meet week I usually work up to an opener on Monday as well. Some folks take the whole week off. I think the way I heard it worded was "Rest the whole week, don't lift a thing, and eat like a horse." Or something like that. It sounded good, but I don't like oats that much, and the whole feedbag thing just doesn't work for me. But I digress.....
:')
Here's to a great last two weeks of working out!
God Bless.

well, got bored this afternoon, was reading an old louie simmons article on extra workouts, and got motivated:
*wide grip thumbless bench: 2x25 w/135 bar wt. only *shoulder complex: used 5lb. plate in each hand. (did 10 reps 4 different ways. good stretch in the shoulders) *KB windmills: 3x5 on each arm. used a 16kg bell *KB incline press: 2x15 used 20kg bells stopped there. took about 20-25 minutes. liked the pump and blood flow I got. nothing fancy. just trying to get a little pump and work some sorness out before ME work on Sunday. Yall have a great weekend. Chad

Seems like a good idea as long as you keep it real light. Get the blood flowing and work out some soreness - Brilliant!
