Chancey: Football bar I got from Louie Simmons at WSB. Is a tricep bar with three different grips that isolate the triceps REALLY well. Is a great bar. a picture is on westsidebarbell.com
dopar66: Doug, Merry Christmas to you.

Awesome bar. I really want one of those bad boys! I find with palms out Heavy Tri Extensions they start to bother my shoulder so that I stop because of shoulder discomfort over triceps tiring. I think this is the bar for me.

Log updated. Christmas messed me up!!! 8 days is TOO LONG to take off. Did not feel very good today, but push through. The 3 reps on 305 and 295 were not very good at all. kept raising my butt off the bench. And I hate the bench we have at our gym. Is kind of sideways and uncomfortable. Anyway, will be back on my regular training cycles next week. Will go back work tomorrow and then start back reg. bench work on Tues. Happy New Year to everyone. Chad

Good workout. Got 2007 off to a good start. Have 4 bench pressing goals for this year:
1. Win our state 100% RAW meet in Feb. w/ at least a 325 or more bench 2. Bench 500+ w/single ply shirt 3. Win the aapf nationals in May 4. relax and enjoy the meets more
And Happy New Year to all. Have a great day. Free wt. bench day tomorrow. Later. Chad

Yep. I'd say you had a good workout this morning. That 515 is just waiting! Just a matter of time! I'd say one less rep with the bands to be a little fresher may be the difference if you got it halfway up and stalled. But don't take my word for it, I am totally unfamiliar with shirt mechanics.....
We start school on Friday. Yep you read that right. I'm expecting stellar attendance.
HAHAHAHAHA!!! I crack myself up sometimes.
:')
God Bless.

Log updated. real happy with the Raw set w/bands. Big PR today! Unfortunately, I used the same wt. I used the last time I used this band combination. almost got three, but gave out. I forgot till I got started to see what my wt. was last time. Also, after I finished, I started getting awful sick. stomach, well, you know. Feel right now like I have a stomach flu. weak, body aches, and upset stomach. Hopefully, it will pass by tomorrow. yall have a good night. Chad

Vike, if you have to, take enough time off to recover from whatever it is you have. If not, your body will be using energy for exercising it could be using for recovering. Plenty of Gatorade or some other electrolyte replacement thingamabob. You're strong as a 400 pound gorilla, it won't hurt you to rest long enough to recover.
Congrats on the PR!!! WOO HOO!
God Bless.

Good advice on the electrolyte replacement thingamabob. Staying hydrated is key. I just got over some stomach virus/flu (it's been a minor epidemic around here) that lasted 3 days. I hope you have better luck.

Ok Doug, define "electrolyte replacement thingamabob" and where I can get some. LOL!! Seriously, thanks for the advice. I am thinking it is the flu. had night sweats and still feeling real weak. probably take the rest of the week off to recover. anyway, will keep yall up to date. chad

Log updated. Not my best today. went in around 4:30 am and did not have a good workout. Was needing to get 4-5 reps with 285 but could only get 3. Not very happy about that. speed work went well and was happy with the rest. Am less than 4 weeks out from state RAW meet with 5 workouts to go. Hopefully the rest will go well. yall have a good day. Chad

Some days the windshield, some days the bug. Shake it off, Chad. With 5 workouts to go this is no time to question yourself. Face the facts: today wasn't what you wanted. Then move on to the next workout. If you dwell on one missed rep it will come back to haunt you.
Get plenty of rest before next workout, whether it's a light day, deload, dynamic effort, no matter if it's tiddlywinks for reps, get rested up. Eat good, sleep good, lift good. Next workout I can't wait to read where you came back with a vengeance and destroyed your workout!
God Bless.

Thanks Doug. How is school going for you? Mine is going good so far. My wife woke up last night with the same virus I had last week. That makes both of us and one of our three kids that have had it over the last week. hope that no one else gets it. my youngest is only one and doesn't weigh very much.

Aw man, I hate it for your wife! Keep the little one away from Mom, spray the house daily with lysol or something like that, wipe all "human contact" surfaces with something (light switches, countertops, all that good stuff." The little fella doesn't need to get sick! (Assuming gender neutrality with the term "fella")
School is BUSY! I told a friend of mine it's a teacher's dream but a department chair's nightmare. On Mondays and Wednesdays I actually have a 30 minute break between my two classes! WOO HOO! :') I'm really enjoying the classes and the guys/gals in the classes, but I don't have much time to interact with the faculty in my dept this semester.
What are you teaching this semester? I have a dream schedule: carpentry, industrial wiring, motors and controls, and drafting! As good as I like tinkering this schedule ROCKS!!!!!
God Bless.

I teach 3 health and 2 drug ed. classes. go straight from 7:30-12:10, then eat lunch and workout my PL team starting at 12:50 (start of 6th period) through 7th period, then a group after school till about 3:30. I do that three days a week, the other two I usually leave out/sneak out about 1:30 or 2pm. A good schedule, but no time to even go to the bathroom. Workout went well today. Weights felt real heavy, but looking back on my log, I believe today was a pr on all the board work. the illegal wide grip work is something I picked up from Louis Simmons at Westside Barbell. tried 3x8, but got 5,7,7. am going to do some kettlebell stuff before I go to bed in a minute. Well, talk at you later. good night. Chad
