YES YES YES many congratulations! But that is one whopper of a bummer on the C shift. I remember those days, nearly as much fun as a root canal. 6 out of 10 people prefer C shift to amoebic dyssentery.....
1300 is there waiting for you......mocking you......besmirching you......calling you out........
WHATCHA GONNA DO BROTHER!!!!!!!!
:') :') :')
Keep us posted on the blessed arrival!
God Bless.

Strong work BL.
The days when everything seems light and it feels like you could go on forever are fun. But, the days where everything feels heavy and you feel beat up are when you find out what you are made of.
Good work on the squats. That is a tough exercise to beat. (ever wonder why bench only and bench/deadlift meets are becoming more popular?)

Excellent workout BL - Looks like you had fun! More fun ahead.
By the way, you have hands down the best log set up.

Strong work BL. (ever wonder why bench only and bench/deadlift meets are becoming more popular?) ### Now that you mention it, I have wondered that. In all the singles meets out there, lots of lifters in Bench and Deadlift and 5 or 6 who squat . Oh well, as long as it doesn't become totally extinct...

Great work, man! Your lifts are really good for a 165! Like everyone else has said, you have the goals and the plan and you're not afraid of hard work... It should all come together in Erie. I wish you the best of health and luck and have a great holiday season.

With about 1 month to go, I could use some suggestions on how to proceed after the 13 week cycle ending with 1RM's on the big 3. I'm making plans for the 7 weeks that will follow after the peak and prior to the meet I am building toward. Options I'm thnking of are:
>> Deload for a week and then keep charging ahead with 6 more weeks of 80+% intensity >> Deload for a week and start a 6 week microcycle with a greatly reduced time in each phase (hypertrophy, strength/power, peak) >> A modified cycle broken into 2 week splits of 6-8 (70%), 3-4 (80%), 2-3 (90%+). Basically, another short cycle starting with a strength building phase
Thanks!!!!!!

Nice lifting Biglifter; very strong!!
As far as your question about the 7 week period following your peak: my personal preference is the mini cycle. I have stayed heavy too long, only to see my performance deteriorate. However, I am quite a bit older than you.
Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Rock! It boils down to a lack of experience over many cycles that I'm fighting right now. I'm not sure how long I can sustain the high intensity work before I start to lose ground. My illustrious career in powerlifting so far has consisted of 1 meet and 13 weeks of preparation. That's why I'm calling in the troops on this one .

BL, I logged on twice yesterday to reply to your post, and both times ended up hitting everyone BUT you! My apologies.
Just a technical perspective check: if you SKIP a rep, don't count it as a miss, count it as a pass. Only when you fail at an attempt do you count it as a miss. It's just a psychological trick to give it a less negative spin.
The lifting looks awesome. Your editorial comment right before the "red letters" puts it all into perspective. One bad form, one pass, learning experience, but the confidence didn't suffer.
Keep up the awesome work!
God Bless.

Thanks all for the support and encouragement. I will be off for some time while I welcome the future of RAW powerlifting to the world (birth of my son ). Once we are settled back in, the journey will continue.

Thanks all. This is #2. Have a beautiful 2yr. old girl at home and this is going to be a boy. Amazingly, I'm still at the hospital going on hour #30 (Internet in the room ). The boy is being very stubborn and refuses to cooperate and come join us. Taking after his father, I suppose. Mom is exhausted but doing ok and we're hoping this will happen soon.
