Yes Dom, I was extremely blessed! I tell you what, though, I'll definitely have to bring my A game if I'm to try and get all 5 working sets in that fast again. Whoo doggy that took the spring out of my step!
Thanks, Dom.
God Bless. Doug

Strong work Doug.
Way to combine cardio and lifting. Most people don't realize how much more strength it takes to move that kind of weight when you aren't taking some time between sets.

Nice few workouts there Doug. If your going to failure on any sets you should definetly have a spotter or you could get injured real bad. I read about a guy last year that was benching alone and got stapled with 250 and the weight rolled up onto his neck and he died. So be carful, we wouldn't want anything like that to happened to you.

Thanks Animal. I've sat up with 225 before, rolled down to the hips. I only go like that when there's someone nearby. We have a silverback gorilla trainer named Greg who is there 4 days a week and always close by when I bench heavy. Thanks, though!
God Bless. Doug

DEADLIFT DAY! WOO HOO!
BWT 178
135x10 225x5 315x5 405x3 455x3 475x3 (BLESSED!!!) 455x2
Ran out of time. Poop.
40 minutes
What a great day! I am so thankful for such a good day in the gym. On that second 475 I really concentrated on pushing my heels through the floor, and keeping my tail down, more than usual, and the weight just popped up. That's good stuff!
God Bless. Doug

Thanks, 3Speed. I could definitely tell a difference!
Today: Bench! Yippee ki-yi-yay!
135x7 + 5 bottoms 185x5 225x3 260x3 285x2 (cut it short to avoid that really low sticking point....my chest.....) 275x1 255x3 225x3
Nasty wides with 30# of chains (YEEEHAAAA!!!!!) 185x8
CG pointer on the smooth, with 30# of chains 185x6 185x4
Whoo doggy those chains are going to take some getting used to! I had some funny looks around the "fitness center" when I came in dragging 20' of logging chains. :') My first impression is I like them, they sure change the feel, but I could definitely tell they were there in spite of the reduced poundage! Can't wait to try them next week with a little more weight!
God Bless. Doug

Way to go Doug. Welcome to the chain gang. They will hit the tri's like few things can.
If you want to talk strange looks. You should have seen me when I walked into Lowe's with 5' of 5/8" chain around my neck. I took the chain in with me to make sure I got the right size D rings for it.

:') I bet there were some eyebrows raised.
Today: SQUATTTTTING!!! YESSSS!!!!!
135x10 225x5 315x5 375x3 415x3 435x3
Pause box squats with 30# of chain 315x5 I sweated.
Calf raises: upped them by 50# today, did supersets of 20 between each squat set.
I can't get over how deeply I'm blessed, knowing I'm nothing but a sinner saved by Grace, and by His Grace and strength is how I'm able to do this stuff. I can't help but share these blessings with yall, so I hope I never come across like I'm bragging about these workouts or anything.
I hope GOd blesses yall as deeply and richly as I have been blessed! Doug

Strong sqatting Doug. Be prepared to feel the chain work tomorrow . Remember to lay off of the chains every third or fourth week. They can be brutal.

Most definitely felt the chains, but not in a debilitating way. Today: deadlift helpers SLDL 135x10 225x5 315x5 365x3 Good mornings: 225x5 315x5 365x3 Romanian DEADlifts 315x5 365x5 405x3 40 minutes A great day!!! The GMs and RDLs felt awesome, like I could really load the bar. I held back on the last sets, cut them off at 3 reps, because this is supposed to be my "light" deadlift week. I'll slowly add the reps in up to 5, then throw on some more weight for 3s. Yall have a wonderful weekend! God Bless.

Thanks, Chancey. It sure didn't FEEL "light!" :')
Today: A most unusual squat day 135x10 225x5 315x3 365x3 405x3 445 2 singles
Ran out of time
The 445 felt fine, I had determined to do 3 singles instead of 1 straight set of 3. On the second one, at the top the bar started rolling. Gravity being what it is, the bar was rolling down, which can cause mild discomfort..... So I racked that bad boy and called it a day instead of damaging anything.
Could it have anything to do with swinging that bush axe Saturday morning?
:')
God Bless.

Doug,
Very nice benching, my friend. I have not tried the chains yet. I do have a set of green bands I use on bench press and squats. These work good too. That 315 is just around the corner!!

Thanks, guys.
Dom, the best I can tell is that bands and chains are very similar, but the bands might be more versatile. I like the chains because they require almost no setting up, they are super simple. Hope the family is doing well!
I'll let yall know how much Icy Hot it takes to get over this workout.
:')
God Bless.

The bands can be a pain to set them up. I had to make something to hold down the bands. It worked out pretty good. Everyone is doing good. My son Jacob is two months now. He is going through some cholic right now. Not fun.
God Bless Dom

I wish we had chains and bands at the gym. I would like to mess with them a little. Looked like a nice focused work out. I love it when you get in and get out like that. Makes it a good day.

Cholic. Bummer. My brother had that, eeeew! Hy heart goes out to you.
Jason, if you have a tractor supply place near you, you can buy 3/8 or 1/2" chain in 10 foot lengths and make a set. Otherwise, there's a thread here that has info on where to buy premade sets. The homemade will be cheaper, but weigh less. I made a set of 30# chains for $33, but a set of 40# premade wouldn't cost that much more than my set. Look under the thread called "Lifter's Exchange."
God BLess.
