Wow! Scary! I hope there's nothing hurt that pops up a day later! Ice that bad boy!
Still a good workout up to the drop! 295 x 4 ain't too shabby, and that 325 squat x 2 with confidence is a great sign!
I'm giving thanks FOR you right now, Brother!
God Bless. Doug

It really scared the heck outta me, i still dont know what happened and how it dropped so fast and so hard, it was like it fell out of my hands! i am still a little sore and my left elbow is really sore with the tennis elbow, gotta get some STRONG ibuprofin today and ice it. I was sleeping last night and had a dream that it fell on me and crushed my neck! i woke up rather startled. my wife asked if i was ok and i said yes. i didnt tell her about the dream because she would worry about me while she is in missouri.
oh yeah, by the way...WE'RE MOVING TO KANSAS CITY MISSOURI!! woo hoooo! Not sure if i announced that yet or not but my wife got the job at KCTV5 so the wife and the youngest son will be leaving on 08/16/2006 Me and my daughter will move up in a month or two, we have to sell alot of things here and i have to wait until i get my retirement check so i can buy a small truck. Anyway, have a great day....gotta go eat!

Thanks dom. My daughter and I will move towards the end of September or October. I kinda want to wait until the end of October because there is a bench meet I wanna do...BAD...i think its on the 17th of October. I want to leave the Carolinas with a Trophey. lol
I sadly have to take a week off, I have BAD tennis elbow and cant do much of anything, especially tricep, bicep and bench stuff. Seems like all pressing movements hurt more than pulling. I will start back training on the 17th, the day after the wife leaves. I hope the tennis elbow clears up but if not i will have to go get a shot.

A trophy would be a nice parting gift from the Carolinas. If you enter let me know how you did. Take care of that elbow.

well i am back from da'beach. had a great time! Elbow feels a little better but still hurts like heck. i really dont want to get a shot, i am eating aleeve, nuproxin and using icyhot. i will have to get off the 5 x 5 routine for now and do higher reps with lighter weight....dang it. I hope it heals quickly so i can do a meet before i leave here.

going to go see a doctor on Wednesday, my elbow isnt getting better, well it is but VERY slowly. At this rate i will bench 405lbs when i am 67 years old. So off to see the doctor for a nice big shot in the elbow joint, it hurts like Hades but within 5 min you feel 100% again.
Keep you posted. I need to fix this elbow, i want to do a meet in late Sept to early October.. anyone know of bench meets in NC or SC around those times? Doesnt matter if its RAW or equipped, i just want to do a meet for now and have fun.

Hey, Bdbldr!
Man, every time you take a step forward something happens. Poop. Well, I tell you brother, taking the rest and doctor approach, that's a lot better than trying to push through. When I was coaching wrestling, another coach I know was pushing through tendonitis. On his 6th rep with 325, the tendon severed. Not good.
You KNOW I'll be emailing you, but still, I'd appreciate if you let me know when and where the bench meet is. If everything works out...who knows.... :')

i am looking for a meet that is around mid to late october. RAW or equipped. i found one in SC on the 28th of october, that may be to far out for me, i am not 100% sure exactly when i am going to move, most likely mid to late october though for sure, but would love to get a bench meet or 2 in before i go.

Thanks for welcome Bode! Well I hope your elbow heals up and you find a gym while you are in KC. Awesome job squatting, especially the way your knees are.

Alright! Bdbldr still squattin large! That's alright, way to go!
That's a heckuva jump from three plates to four! Next time maybe trying to go 315/365/405? I don't know about other folks but it always helps me to "feel" some weight before a huge attempt.
I just read a thread where some particular guys (THANKS DJ!) may offer to host the nats out in the midwest next year. That's a hint for you, Bdbldr! :')

Hey, Bdbldr. BUMMER! Well, at least it's arthroscopic, that's a relief.
The one other guy at my gym that does full power is 54 years old. He had rotator cuff surgery last April. Before the surgery, he was good for a 285 bench (at 170 pounds I might add). In 14 months he was 100%, had all his strength back, but is not going over 285 "just to be safe". And this is invasive surgery, not arthroscopic. I guess the moral of the story is this: do what the doctor tells you, do it smart, and you WILL make a comeback!
If it takes a little longer, you'll just appreciate it more. :')
God Bless. Doug
