07/29/2006
Today was an awesome day. Celebrated my 12 year anniversary with the most beautiful woman in the world, went to the lake with our Church and had a blast ....and way to many hot dogs! Came home around 3 slept till 7 then hit the gym. I couldnt do the whole workout, the wife wasnt in the mood to workout and was rushing me. But a good workout none the less.
SQUAT 190lbs x 5 225lbs x 5 255lbs x 5 285lbs x 5 320lbs x 3 PR 255lbs x 8
BENCH 170lbs x 5...done with 2 second pauses 195lbs x 5...done with 2 second pauses 225lbs x 5...done with 2 second pauses 250lbs x 5...done with 2 second pauses 300lbs x 3...no pauses...lol but did it slow and controlled. 225lbs x 8....was suppose to do this but forgot, will make it up to you guys. lol
FACE PULLS 105lbs x 8 120lbs x 8 135lbs x 8...these were awesome! nice pump in my mid back. I did face pulls in place of BB rows.
I was also suppose to do 3 x 8 weighted dips, 3 x 8 bb curls and 3 x 8 DB ext. but it was getting late and the wife wanted to watch movies and all that.
Decent workout though, cant complain. Now i get to go make me a whey protein drink, with peaches, strawberries and soy milk...yum yum! Post again Tuesday!

Congratulations! First, again, on the anniversary! :') But also on the PR squat! Way to go, Bdbldr!
My brother and I are working out a plan for you and me to get that workout in before KC. I'll keep you posted.

Sweet! I am looking forward to it! I thnik we will know for sure today if we are moving or not. My wife has the interview at 330pm. The main concern is that I havent been released from the doctor yet, they feel that may cause a conflict somehow with our move. Oh well, we shall see. Doesnt really matter to me anymore. I can be a CHIEFS fan from South Carolina. But it would be great to go back home too.

Thanks toolpod and vic, thats why i love this site. best bros in the world are right here.
I missed Tuesdays workout due to all the mess going on around here, I may miss saturdays...no wait,, i will get up earlier and get it in! No matter what! I love this workout, the squats are killing me...but i love it. The bench is a bit light but it is steadily going up, I should have 405lbs soon enough. The yates rows are weird, i have watched videos on them and "think" i am doing them right, i may sub them with heavy face pulls.
Squat 195lbs x 5 230lbs x 5 260lbs x 5 295lbs x 5 320lbs x 4... new PR...5th rep was impossible, i would have passed out.
Bench 175lbs x 5 205lbs x 5 230lbs x 5 260lbs x 5 295lbs x 5
Yates rows 135lbs x 5 155lbs x 5 175lbs x 5 195lbs x 5 215lbs x 5
Accessories Calves 300lbs x 70 reps, i did sets of 10 to 15 reps until i hit 70 reps.
Thats it, i am outta here, time for a bath. The wife came and gave me a BIG hug and asked me..."Honey, whens the last time you took a bath?" She asked me so sweetly but I got the hint. The Bill Start 5 X 5 routine really has me sweating and I get kinda stinky, so i am gonna go wash off.
Thanks again to everyone for their support and helping me keep my head up in these hard times. Money isnt a problem...I dont have any. lol

I really enjoy your attitude, Bdbldr! "Money isnt a problem...I dont have any. lol" That's the spirit!
Awesome workout! Awesome PR on the squat! Congrats to you! Remember, the phrase is "squat til you puke" NOT "squat til you pass out". Passing out is a safety violation, puking is just a hazard. Big difference!
SamoanGirl got you good! :'))) Can't wait to meet yall! (It's in the works, I'll email you.)

hehehe my daughter was standing close by, saw the look on my face and busted out laughing. I had that "oh crap, i am sick" look on my face. lol Havent ever gotten "sickly" from low rep heavy sets before. i have gotten sickly feeling from very high repped sets though. My wife wants me to squat till i puke, she has done it before and says its my turn now.

That is a great way to push yourself. I actually pushed so hard on squat before that when I finished I seen white everywhere also I seen little yellow dots everywhere. Yep, just like the cartoons, but I did not get hit on the head with an anvil.

GREAT Workout today!!
I went to the gym and forgot to take my workout sheet with me so I wasnt 100% sure about the weights to use, so I winged it. lol
SQUAT 225lbs x 5 275lbs x 5 315lbs x 4...that was it..legs didnt want to do another set. My left eye felt like it was going to pop out of socket. lol
BENCH 225lbs x 5 275lbs x 5 295lbs x 5 315lbs x 5...New PR 365lbs x 1...New PR!!
Face Pulls 120lbs x 8 150lbs x 8 180lbs x 8...did these in place of deads. I was to weak to do deads today but I will add them next week. I kinda like the face pulls though.
Accessories Tricep press downs 120lbs x 3 sets of 10
Cable Double bicep curls...(done like you are doing a double bicep pose) 40lbs x 2 sets of 15
That was it. I was spent and ready to go home. It is kinda hard to do the Bill Star 5 X 5 routine. It takes me about an hour to an hour and a half to do it. Not that time is the problem but my wife and kids do their little "body for life" type routine and they finish way before I do and get impatient. What punks. lol
I was so glad to see that I have a new RAW 1 rep max of 365lbs!!
I am so stoked! Well, now i am off for some "quality" protein intake. Going to Rockingham, NC to get me a philly steak and cheese sub from Mama Noise!! woo hoo!! Best in the south baby. Have a great weekend my brothers!

Duckies! Those bench press PRs look sweet! Heh, I've almost gotten to that stage on my squats (I felt that way when I hit 195lb squat singles a few weeks ago).

BB2K,
Man, it didn't take you long to add 15 lbs to your bench. I might have to try squattin' before I bench. ;D
Great job.

when i got 350 it was awesome, but i ended up going down instead of up in weight. i could barely get 315...so i took about a week off and restarted lighter and built up. i was feelin kocky that day so i went for it! lol The weight on the bench is a bit light at first, i mean doing 200 to 250 is not hard for me, but when i do my last set of 5 i am smoked!

AWESOME!!! 365 on the bench! That starting a new cycle did the trick! Way to go, bro!
Nice work on the squatting as well. You know if you popped your left eye out, you'd have to do another set so your right eye would match. I'd stick to puking if I were you.
:')
Congrats, Bdbldr!

i am so DEAD set on hitting 405lbs. I will be smart about it and do it slowly but I will get it. There is no question in my mind that I can do it, I know I can. (even if i puke and my eyes pop out) lol
Thanks for the support guys. I am looking forward to my first meet! I really want to do well so i am busting my anus now for upcoming meets.

Today....wow....God was watching over me for real. I was doing my workout and on my last rep of my last set on bench...I dont know what happened but the weight crashed down on my upper chest, almost directly on the colar bone area. I was able to lean to my left and let the weights slide off and then it crashed down on the right side. I got right up and knelt down and thanks my Heavenly Father for saving my stupid ace! The wife wasnt able to go and spot me today so i went lighter but sometimes crap happens.
SQUAT 185lbs x 5 235lbs x 5 265lbs x 5 295lbs x 5 325lbs x 2..if i would have had a spotter I really think I would have gotten all 5.
BENCH 185lbs x 5 205lbs x 5 245lbs x 5 265lbs x 5 295lbs x 4 and DROPPED #5 big time.
Yates Row 135lbs x 5 155lbs x 5 175lbs x 5 205lbs x 5 225lbs x 5
No accessory work today, i was ready to go home...bad day in the gym already and didnt want to spend any more time in there after what happened! I have a nice bruise across my chest now...lol
Off to do some running around that needs to be done. Have a great day everyone!
