Doug, I'm afraid that post was mis-leading. I didn't intend it, but it happened. I did the shoulder presses in a Smith machine. Those things are counter balanced, so what I should have put was "2-45's on each side. I don't actually know how much of the carriage you get. I'll have to check it sometime.

Gotcha! If it's a smith they're somewhere around 8-12# on the unloaded weight best I recall, so we're talking 188-192 pounds...... STILL not too shabby! 8 reps at 188 is still rockin! um.... that qualifies as an inadvertent and very bad pun.....my bad.....
:')
God Bless!

LOL I love it.
Ok, missed Monday cuz we were without electricity from Sunday night until last night. Took Monday night off to go buy a generator. So I tried to combine bench and dead lift tonight. It doesn't work so good.
Dead lift
8 x 135, 6 x 185, 5 x 225, 5 x 275, 5 x 315, 4 x 340, 2 x 360, 1 x370
Bench
8 x 135, 6 x 185, 4 x 225, 4 x 275, & 3 sets of 4 x 285
I felt weaker than usual on the bench, but at least I got it in this week.

MON DIEU!!!! (That's French for "you can have MY dew....") Okay, so this is "Rockman's new "LIGHT" workout", you deadlifted and benched in the same night, said you felt weak, and you did 4@340, 2@360, and 1@370 on the deads. THEN you did 3x4x285 on the bench....... Allow me to reiterate: MON DIEU!!!!!!! If that's what you call not working so good, I do NOT want you as a training partner!!! ;D ;D ;D God Bless!!!!! And prayers for no headache!!!

Thank you gentlemen. Doug, you are too funny. I would never take your Dew!! ;D
But you are right, I'm within 10% of where I was at last December when I thought I wasn't going to be able to continue. I have no headache, and I'm not really hurting, except for some muscle soreness. I'm still experimenting. The next two weeks should tell me a lot. I'm going to try for 4 x 3 x 300 next week, and 4 x 2 x 315 the following week. If that works, I'm going to give shirted lifting a try.
When this training cycle is over, I'll start a new log with a different name. And Doug, I would be honored to be your training partner, anytime.
Toolpod, everybody asks me "what's your real name?" Believe it or not, it's Rocky. It was my grandfathers nickname.
Special thanks for the prayers, and I've included you in mine, mostly when I'm giving thanks.

You right, Doug! I believe it's a Blessing. I had a headache yesterday, but it was mild, and I think it's a side effect from some medication that I'm taking.
Leg Press weight = plates
10 x 200, 10 x 400, 8 x 490, 8 x 580, 7 x 630
20 Decline sit-ups
Steep inclined Shoulder presses in a Smith Machine, 2 pins back from vertical. Weight = Plates
10 x 90, 8 x 140, 8 x 180, 3 x 200
Rear Delt flyes
8 x 35, 8 x 40,
Preacher curls supersetted with triceps cable extensions
Curls: 10 x 80, 2 x 8 x 100, 10 x 80 Extensions: 10 x 150, 10 x 175, 2 x 8 x 185
This cable machine has a pulley at the weights, so the actual weight is around half of the stated weight.

Wow. Sure didn't let a little headache get in the way of an outstanding workout! 630x7 in plates is no wimpy routine!
In honor of leg pressing like that with a headache, I will forego any comment on "supersetting" preacher curls and extensions........
:') :') :')
Glad you are feeling good! TGBTG!

LOL, I'm not bodybuilding, I was just running out of time. I'm still thanking God for making it possible for me to continue lifting.
Bench
8 x 135, 6 x 185, 4 x 225, 3 x 275, 3 x 300, & 3 x 2 x 300
I just could not get those third reps. Oh well, I'll try again next week.
Triceps work, and out early.

I guess I should start a new log, in light of finally getting back to the 300 bench milestone. It has been over 3 months, and I ssem to be doing well. Starting Wednesday, I'll have a new log, an we'll see how this progresses.
