I have never used them but It could create quite the radical difference in weight once you latch on to them. Like going 100 to 10 mph in second. I would think there would be some shock to the body. I beleive you would be better of with bands or chains becuase of the gradual increase in weight. That being said, if I had them I would use them.

Just wondering. Is there anything on the market that does the opposite weight releasers? To clarify, I mean instead of adding resistance to the eccentric lift then having it come off on the concentric lift, is there a way of adding resistance to the concentric lift without adding resistance to the eccentric lift? Bands and chains wouldn't apply because they are variable resistance. I'm talking about a fix resistance similar to that of weight releasers but only on the concentric lift.

I can’t think of any product that can do this. You could pause your reps at the top and bottom so you can have a person on each side slide a plate on and off. Just curious, what are you trying to accomplish by doing this?

The two person thing would probably work but I train alone so that's out of the question. I'm just trying to come up with innovative ways to help out with the bottom and concentric part of my bench/squat especially since I lift raw. I remember Louie's explanation of chains and I kind of figure that this would work somewhat of the same way. You go down with a decent weight but are force to explode of your chest because all of the sudden, extra weight is added to the bar at the bottom of the lift. Chains are great but the weight at lockout isn't the same as the weight right off the chest where raw lifters need it the most IMO. I know it sounds silly but I'm sure that's what a lot of people thought about chains and bands too when they first came out. Instead of trying to find the best shirt or suit out there, I think powerlifters should always continue to incorporate news ways of training and tricking the CNS. Like Louie said, "Everything works but nothing works forever".

used them before u add like 50 to 100 pounds then when u hit ur chest the weight falls off and u explode like crazy.
