Does anyone incorporate using reverse grip on the bench. Just wondering because the Westside video says it is an awesome triceps movement that does not bother your shoulders.

I love reverse grip benching for those exact reasons. Practically pain free benching. It can be a little rough on your wrists. I’ve often thought that if I trained it hard enough I could match or maybe better my regular bench. The only problem is you really need a spotter when you do these. First off it’s hard to unrack with that grip and it would be real easy to have the bar roll out of your hands. I suppose the smith machine would be a good compromise if you can’t get a spot.

I have done reverse grip benching many times before. I have never used a spotter. I just lay back on the bench so my head is hanging over the back. This places you directly betwen the uprights. You bring the bar down to your upper belly rather than your sternum. This way you can clear the uprights when you press. My max bench was 315 and I was doing 5x5x225 reverse grip without a spotter. I only attempted a max effort set once and almost had the bar roll out of my hands, though. I was able to press it up and rack it before it decapitated me... LOL.
