I have hunted down and added a "Reputation" plug-in to the forum. ProBoards updated their system a few months ago and removed the Karma system adding a system where you could purchase "gifts" to give to other members in the form of badges. I think you should be able to let a fellow forum member know that you like - or dissaprove of - what he/she is doing without having to spend money to do it. I know some of you lost a fair amount of karma due to the switchover. If you care and can let me know what it was, I can check on it and restore your number.
If you really like a post or appreciate that someone took the time to help you out or post useful information, give them some rep. Heck, you can even hit 'em up for logging a brutal workout. On the other hand, if they are being a jerk or spreading bad info, take some rep from them.
Let me know what you think about this. Do we need it? Do you not want it? This is not my forum. This is our forum. I see my job here as keeping the garbage out and providing what you want as long as it is within the guidelines of the 100% RAW Federation.

I think that is a great idea. As far trying to add back our old Karma points let’s just call it a new beginning. I would think that anyone who had any Karma before will quickly rebuild rep points. I mean Duckies you’re at 2 already.

I like it. Anything that promotes interest in people reading other people's posts has got to be looked at as a plus.

I liked the system. I felt like it gave me a backing, sorta letting me know I was barking up the right tree at times. It is important for me, because I usually dive head first into a controversial topic. Before doing so, I do try to do a little research. I try not to go with "feelings" minus evidence unless its an experience based issue and I'm shooting from the hip. But when there is evidence available, I'll put the time in to get bearings before speaking.
I think the karma system was sort of a symbol of forum unity, and felt it was most beneficial at times when someone new would come on with an unpopular argument. Typically those countering with higher karma would see support rise via increases in karma...to me that means, um, maybe the poster is going against the grain and should listen more. High Karma means there is a hidden posse of agreeance...lol

I think the new system will work great...I enjoy reading all the persons logs...I wish there was more active participants in this forum....any ideas how to get more powerlifters on this forum? It also seems as most of you are from the northern part of the United States...I don't see many people from the south..much less from Georgia where I am at...thanks to all for your posts...i hope you enjoy mine as well.....

I think now that we have actively moderating the forum that we’ll start attracting and keeping more members. It had got pretty messy there for a while. I am also hoping that more teen and ladies join in the mix. Both groups have their own forum but unfortunately because we don’t have any active teens or ladies when someone new posts instead of getting a reply from like they either get nothing or a reply from one of us grizzly old guys.
I also think it would help if the meet directors, state chairs, and executive posted more about upcoming meets, and what going on in the federation. Unfortunately everyone relies on Facebook. No dot get me wrong face book is a great way to get new out to a lot of people quickly but thread (Or whatever they are called in Facebook) are quickly buried by newer posts.
