I posted in the general forum then saw this masters sub forum. I powerlifted for fun in the military but that was over 20 years ago. I have lifted recreationally on and off over those years but have now decided to get back into a dedicated regimen. I am 46 so I would appreciate any feedback from others my age that have started over.
I appreciate any responses. Looking forward to getting strong again.

Well, I’m 47 and I don’t know that I would say that I’ve started over because while I lifted while I did lift when I was younger I didn’t really find powerlifting until I was 42 when I entered my first meet. There are some really great, and smart folks on this site with lots of knowledge. Welcome aboard. Do you have your eye on any meet you would like to do in the future?

I just started over too at 52. My last meet was 1998! LOL. I lost over a 100 lbs on my squat & deadlift LOL Oh well got to start back somewhere.
Just start as if it's your first time. Keep your age in mind when training. I found that out the hard way.

I started at 61. For me the key is to remember that tendons and ligaments get old. I stopped doing inclined benches because my right shoulder was sounding like Rice Krispies. But that didn't stop my lifting...just switched to another lift. And...don't get impatient. Your brain may be 25 but your body is not. None of which should stop you from competing.

49 here : 0
Been lifting all my life on and off. At 21 i had a 395 bench at 177 which I thought was good until I looked at the records and noticed ppl wearing these all new single ply shirts for saftey( so they said) and that pretty much was the end for me until I saw something in a mag about RAW lifting a year ago. I'm over weight, i'm injured but i'm not dead.
That being said, we can sit down watch tv and get fat or we can get up and live life. I hope we all get up : )
