This should work in a 2 to 3 day period First drink lots of water. I know it sounds crazy but it works – the more water you drink the less water you body will retain. You will want to drink 100 to 200 oz a day, At least. Don’t try to drink it all at one but spread out over the day. (Don’t drink anything but water) Stop using salt and cut back on salty foods try to limit your intake to 500 to 1500 mg. of sodium a day Sweating will help purge the body of sodium, so you could hit the steam room, sauna or even some light cardio. remember the point being to get rid of the salt not water so keep drinking – don’t overdo it. That will deplete your strength.
Cut back on your carbs. Carbs store water in the body if you limit your carbs you body will burn the store carbs for energy releasing the water the hold.
Lastly take advantage of the 24 hour weigh-in (if there is one) that way you can have a good dinner the night before.
This should allow you to lose 5lbs give or take without losing much strength or being miserable.

Thanks for the information, cutting back right now on starches (white bread) and desserts, have been doing 6 bottles(500 ml) of water thru the day, will follow the week before schedule as you set out

Just taking in 1.5 - 2 gallons of water for 3 days and then stopping the water consumption 24 hours before weighin will should lead to a drop of 5-6 pounds at your current bodyweight.

This is an article I found a year ago or so, and I've followed to the letter Im guess 3-4times. It's pretty much what other have suggested, just outline day by day. If you checkout my log I've kept a pretty good detail of my weight each day using this system, and how it worked each time, weights have varied depend where I was starting from. I'm actually be start this process again in a few days, starting weight 187 goal 181.5. articles.elitefts.com/articles/powerlifting-articles/4-day-guide-how-to-cut-for-a-short-weigh-in/
