Hello out there. Has anyone had to have shoulder surgery for a torn rotator cuff and labrum? If so, how long until you were able to resume lifting, and how long before you regained what you lost and begin competing again, if you were able? Thanks

A few weeks before a meet back in March I started to notice some weakness in my right shoulder, no pain, just weakness. Then at the meet I opened on the bench with a weight a good 30 lbs. under my max and I struggled to get it up. I then experienced some intense pain and had to pass on my next two attempts. My dr. sent me to an orthopaedic dr. who did some manipulation of my shoulder and could tell my right was much weaker than my left (I'm right handed). He sent me for an MRI and it showed a full thickness tear of the tendon that comes from the back to form the rotator cuff and a leaking of the fluid that indicates a tear of the labrum, as well as some arthritis in the upper shoulder. I meet with the surgeon on Tuesday to schedule the surgery.
