Seemed to take forever to get loose but once I did a set at 315 everything felt great.

Rosario, no it is just a program that I have done in the past between contest. I have another competition on 6-4-11 but I did not want to do my normal cycle for pre contest. I was afraid of over training so I pretty much cut back on reps and sets until this competition is over.

Good luck at the American Challenge. I did last year and it was a lot of fun, and it's always nice to see your name stack up against more then 1 other lifter, if that at times.

Rosario, that's true. Back inthe 70's when I first competed there were a lot fewer competitions but at least there were always a good number of competitors in each weight class. I looked up your numbers from that competition and You are considerably stronger now. you should do it again.

I looked up your numbers from that competition and You are considerably stronger now. you should do it again. I'm not sure about considerably stronger. Still shocking what won the 181class last year, can't see that low a number taken it this year. I'm going to be sticking with Full Power as long as Im healthy. Although should I breakout of that mold again it will be for the American Challenge.

Last heavy worhout before competition. Weights really felt heav today and I have concerns for my competition. I will do one more real light workout and hope the rest will put me back on target.
Bench 135x12 185x6 225x6 paused 275x3 paused 315x3 paused 335x3 355x1 paused 365x1 paused 335x3 paused 315x4 paused
355 felt heavy but 365 felt better so I hope that is a good sign. I had planned on opening with 365 but I might have to re-think that.

Just finished Virginia American Challenge. It was a very well run event. I went in with very little confidence and sore left shoulder. Ended up tying my own Virginia state record and took first in the open and my age group at that site. Will not know how I did overall for 3-4 weeks. It was held in nine different locations. Went 352, 369, 380 in the bench

Thanks guys. Yes , that did match my own PR. I did leave a little on the table as I blew up 380. I went in having shoulder problems and went too conservative but was surprised that I had no pain. I kind of chickened out on my final attempt and probably had 10 more pounds in me. MY goal was to do more than last year and I did, so overall not bad

Thanks guys I really appreciate all the support. That is the one thing iI really like about this sport. To me the support you get from everyone, even your fellow competitors, is something you don't see in other sports.
