That is great to hear Dan. Where did you get yours from? I think we will have 3-4 for sure in the masters division in August. Our state chair from LA is supposed to be coming up also, and he is a master.
Are you considering coming to Abilene in Sep. for Ntls.?

I got it from sports kilt (The Black Watch tartan) I’m loving it but my wife was a bit horrified when I took out daughter for a walk in it. I’m really looking forward to the meet.
I think I may have mentioned to you about my idea for the fund raiser for Coholo. Anyway, I’m letting people sign the shirt I plan to wear at the meet for a small donation so far I have about $100 raised
I would like to go to Abilene but I’ll be in WVA at the time, I may enter Jason Peaks event if he has it and if I don’t totally crash in August.

haha That is a great story about the kilt. I believe that is the same design I have from them.
I think Jason is talking about a small meet, so we wil see.
That is so cool, the Camp CoHoLo fundraising you are doing. Great job, I know they will greatly appreciate it.
You won't crash, you will be amazed at how well you will do.

Is a kilt a neccessity or just an optional tradition? Is it reserved only for Scottish/Celtic heritage or open to anyone? Came across this link and wondered if anyone went this route yet... www.kamokilt.com

It’s optional. I choose to do it for the fund raiser I’m doing and to keep with the spirit of the event. I did look at the Kamo as well as the utility-kilts in the end I went with the Sports Kilt for two reasons. First, price, I only paid $146 for kilt and belt. I didn’t get a sporren because I didn’t want to add another $40 +. The second and more pertinent reason was they were one of the few places that, mmmmm how I can put this, made a kilt that matches my girth.

Hey dbunch you will have a great time at this event if this is your first time.I competed in a local event in muddy run penn. a couple of years I was lucky at the event i was deciding if i wanted to enter it or not but i didnt have a kilt (which is a requirement ) another entry who had hurt his back in a car accident gave me his. I placed second over all. second place prize was a hand made sporren . so i had my sporren and the fellow who left me borrow the kilt said that i wore it well and left me gifted it to me. it was a good time, good people

Thanks, the more I train the more confidence I get. Even if I do come in dead last, 100 miles behind all of the other competitors, I got one thing over everyone who doesn’t enter. I got out there and tried it.
