DJ - I was looking at the list of events for the Nebraska Highlander Games in August. Most of the events are self explanatory. I did have a question about the 12” log press for Max, what is the weight of the log?

Dan, We have 2 logs, one is 90# empty and the other is 105# empty. They have pins on each end(like an olympic bar) so weight can be added as needed. It is just like a pl meet in the way that you start with a weight, and then go up from there. Up to 3 attempts. Give me a call sometime and we can setup a time when you can come over and use the implements. We train over in Council Bluffs or down in Papillion. It would be great to have you out there. I think you would really enjoy it and everyone is very encouraging, like the powerlifting.

Thank DJ. I’ll give you a call; I went ahead and entered the contest in August. As it has been said on this site many times before there is no point in waiting till you think you are ready, you’ll never do it

Very well said Dan. We usually tell everyone that, whether it be powerlifting, highlander, etc. Just get in and compete and then you can find out what you need to work on. Glad to have you in.
Call anytime and I can tell you when any of us are training.
