Hi, I'm new to 100% RAW PL (275 lb.) and I am wondering when a masters lifter proceeds to the next higher age group.
For example, would I be an (45-49) M2 lifter on my 45th birthday of 4/13/09 or am I an M2 lifter already as of 1/1/09? My DOB is 4/13/64.
Does the USAPL use the same age class policy?
I had a fun time at the 100% RAW Christmas Classic in Stanardsville, VA in Dec 2008.
Thanks.

Of course I've looked all over for the reference where I read it but couldn't find it so please take my reply with a grain of salt. That being said, I believe that you change classifications on your Birthday. I can’t speak for the USAPL but the AAU policy is that same as above (mmm, which may be where I read it)

The USAPL changes your classification on January 1st of the year in which you'll be (the new age). You cannot set a record for that age category until you ARE that age.

Woody indicated to me that in 100% RAW you are in the age class based on your age on the day of the meet.
This is unlike the USAPL. Thanks.
