I have the same problem - If you use creatine that could be part of the problem - there are brands that do not add water weight but pricy - also salt intake needs to be watched. Finally much as I hate to say it 20 to 30 minutes a day of cardio works wonders -

for creatine just make sure you're using creatine powder in natural juice (like grape juice) instead of one of the pre-mixed formulas (i.e. Cell-Tech, Cell Mass, etc) b/c they contain a large amount of unnatural sugars. I like ProSource's German Creatine Monohydrate.

Any creatine except Creatine Ester (expensive as heck but the best by far) will give you water retention and using grape juice or any other juice gives you excess sugar. Read any article on Creatine to get the facts - CE is great but open up the wallet.

So far 70, the couple posts of yours I've seen have been pretty far off, & I disagree with you on almost every level of that post.
C E hasn't been proven to be better then Mono, and infact BSN had to pull their line of CEE b/c of of class-action lawsuit filed showing that they couldn't even prove it existed.
There is a big difference between fake sugars in drinks then real sugars from fruit. Creatine Mono in grape juice is an excellent option.
Stick with the tried & true...

30 years plus personal traininig and if you say Creatine Mono does not produce water retention think again - There is no law suit and this is a master site for Master lifters who have a lot of experience - When was your last meet? I have tried to provide information that is based on fact or and yes all sugars are not the same but this post was on weight loss and sugars of any kind add weight - and so does Creatine!!!!!! That is why all lifters that are trying to make weight say cut out the creatine!!

huh, you seem to get pretty angry over little things... anyways, if you read the post, you know I never said creatine doesn't produce water weight, I said c.e. is no way proven to be better or as effective as mono. and the post wasn't about water weight, it was about weight loss while lifting heavy. also, yes there is a lawsuit, I've read the entire PDF of it, and it's really Duckies long.
try to chill out there, it's not good for your health.

Back on subject Bigarm... weight loss is a simpkle math equation... less calories in than you expend in a day. Where strength athletes struggle is that you really need to fuel those muscles to gain strength. You are heading in the right direction with a focus on protein, at least that is what works for me. I also eat several (5-6) small "meals" throughout the day. That means breakfast, mid morning, lunch, mid afternoon, post evening workout and finally dinner. Some of these "meals" are as simple as a can of tuna, a chicken breast and some rice, a protein bar or drink. While I use certain bars and protein shakes, be wary of these. Find brands, like Isopure sugar free, that limit the sugar intake. Read the labels and don't give in to those "42 grams of protein" advertisements, without checking the sugar content.... it'll kill you to see that most protein bars have a higher calorie count and as much if not more sugar than a candy bar! I also agree with 70 plus that limited cardio 20 - 30 minutes, several times a week helps a lot. I do mine right after lifting. Keep the intensity moderate and try an find something you enjoy. Good luck. John

Thanks for getting us back on track John Small meals throughout the day is a great suggestion, I use 7 small meals a day which seems to work great. To add to the sugar thing, also make sure you're not overloading yourself on carbs. You need a good amount for energy throughout the day, but make sure you're not overdoing it as you don't want that to be stored as fat. I love the Supreme Protein Bars, for 360 cals & 30g of protein, they only have 4g of sugar & 6 net carbs. If you can do 20-30mins cardio (or HIT cardio, which works well for me) and have it not effect your lifts, definitely do so, as that will definitely help getting rid of some of that excess. Good Luck & Sorry about the Hijack,
