strongmen/pl please read who is interested

I also may be holding a drug free strongman event, I started a thread below about who would be interested a while back, I would love to hear some feed back. I already have a venue!!!

The meet would be on a saturday afternoon after my annual unsanctioned powerlifting event I put on every year!!! THE MOTHMAN OPEN III in Point Pleasant WV at THE MOTHMAN FESTIVAL. GREAT EVENT (It is unsanctioned because I will have a pro division that gives out cash awards)

The strongman event I would like to sanction it through Maybe 100% Raw if Mr. Bossi Does not mind or The ADFPF which I have already been working with. Both feds are great .


Any way here are some of the possible events

#1. 18" dl max or Rack Pull( 3 att)

#2 Medley of doom- You will have 4 implements you must take all of them about 30-50' put them on a platform on the ground, than grab a sandbag 40-90lbs and take it back and replace the implements
the 4 implements will most likely be a 95 lb log,92 lb flat stone, empty barrell, big truck tire, subject to change
fastest time

#3 overhead press for reps or max?
if reps it will be 135 for lt wts 175 mids 205 heavy, if max 3 attps

#4 small tractor tire flip, 35' cement tire drag 35'
time

#5 strict curl max, or curl for reps?

and maybe a novice if i get enough people

Interested, but I would suggest the lifts be done for reps not max, because when you get into changing weights it takes forever. The curl idea I love. Equal upper and lower body events make it fair. The drug test is iceing on the cake.

Garry thanks for your input, drug testing will take place if 100% Raw would like to sanction it or if the adfpf sanctions it.

I myself would like it to be reps on the over head press and strict curl, but I would like to see some super heavy 18" rack pulls for max weight.

Very late but....Having helped put on a few strongman events recently I will agree with gary on the reps vs max. We recently did a Max farmers walk DL and although the weight got freaky, up over 1000 lbs, it took forever. You start to lose peoples interest with all the weight changes.

Duckies, I did not read this until now! I would have loved to been in this thing!

Are there gonna be more drug tested strongmen contests with weight classes? I'd love to compete!

Lets get some truck pulls, or school bus pulls. Those are always a crowd favorite!

Guys i will put it on I just have to have some people, any and all who would like to do one let me plan for may 2009, contact me soon if you are serious so I can get it sanctioned and on the schedule. I am sure Mr. Bossi would sanction it 100% Raws strongest Man, or something we can get it done if no one wants to sanction it I still can get it done. Just got to have a bunch of commitments.

hey i would love to do a drugtested strongman, ya can count me in, it would be fun, ya could allso throw in something like weight over bar, or some type of throw for distance ala highland games, i know of a few contests in the noreast and midwest are doin a strongman/highland games mix, which to me sounds fun as well
