Impressive, but you better check the hydraulic system for any leaks.

3speed...that is just phenomenal! You give me much hope, sir! I'm not saying you're a geezer or anything, but you're what 43-44-ish? I've been having the same thoughts as you...I'm 37...and I keep thinking the "decline" is right around the corner...now I see that I have at least 5 more years! Re: the pauses...I'd have to agree, they work great. Admittedly, I have to fight with myself to do them, because the TNG is more fun, but they work wonders...even soft-touch over TNG is better. I'm going to try

"505 x 1 <---put on belt here"
Heck, that's nothing, I had to put on my belt just to READ your log after the 505! MAN what a day!
Your reverse band deadlifts warrant a Lysimacus special "Good googly moogly!" Outstanding! No wonder you walked out tired, it's just a wonder you walked out at all!
Spot on, big guy, spot on!
;')
God Bless!

Sunday 10/14/7
Thank you gentlemen. Been very busy. Didn't even work out last week.
Toolpod: I'm 42 and running down 43 in a hurry. Thank you for the comments.
Squat 135 x 10 135 x 5 225 x 7 315 x 5 385 x 2 435 x 1 495 x 1 525 x 1...Grinder. Took 6-8 seconds to lock out. Very heavy. 495 x 1
Bench 135 x 8 135 x 5 230 x 8...All paused from here on 250 x 6 260 x 4 280 x 3 290 x 2 300 x 1 260 x 6
Deadlift 245 x 5 335 x 3 425 x 1 515 x 1 515 x 1...These 2 sets flew off the floor. At this point a smart@## walked by and said, "You know, another plate would be 605". I thought "he's right, the weights flying up.....go for it". 605 x 1...Started off the floor slowly and gained speed on the way up. Locked it out and let out a yell that got everyone's attention. A 30 pound PR.

A 30 pound PR??? You've been holding out on us!!! ;D
A HUGE congratulations. Man, that is some kind of very fine deadlifting.
Let's see, according to my calculations, that's a 1430 total in training, without going for a max on the squat and bench. In credible!! Really, what can be said about you. I don't have the words.

Thanks guys. You would think that, at my age, I would know better than allow myself to be goaded like that. I am paying the price today. My right foot is swollen and hurts so badly that I can't walk. Bringing back bad memories of last year at this time.

Thank you toolpod.
BL, don't tempt me. ;D I tend to work the parts of my deadlift more than the whole thing. I never know where it will be when I try to put the parts together.
Really getting tired of foot injuries. Just got back from Dr. Foot is so swollen that he can't tell if broken or badly sprained. Put me on 2 narcotics and a muscle relaxer so I really don't care which right now. Updates as warranted.

3, did you have an existing problem with the foot, or can that much pressure sprain/break it? Just curious

BL, The jury is still out on this one, but I have broken each of my feet twice in the last 3 years. They have all been dislocation type - think boxer's break of the foot. The 1st one I felt when I was doing rack lockouts with ~900lbs. The 2nd I broke trying to protect the 1st - too much too soon. The 3rd is a mystery. The 4th was done seting up for the squat - rolled my foot slightly.
My doctor has done xrays and questioned me on my shoes, my diet, any supplements, etc. I have a very small frame and was very small as a child and a young adult. When I enlisted in the Air Force at 21yo, I was 5'10" tall and weighed 121lbs. Doc postulates that my small frame and a diet deficient in proper nutrition during my developmental years is "possibly" contributing to this. We had a talk about this Monday and he reminded me that I am lifting weight that my body was not designed for and that any active person assumes a risk of injury. He went as far as to tell me that he would recommend that any other person give it up but knew that would be a waste of time with me.
I don't know about the quitting part, but I am definitely considering redesigning my training routine. If for no other reason, I am self employed and losing a considerable amount of money sitting at home.
Thanks for asking BL.

Very interesting, and thanks for the explanation. Keeping the feet healthy is something I have a keen interest in, ever since some frostbite years ago. I can also relate to the 180 degree change in what stresses you place on the body. Entered Parris Island at 5'5", 114lb. ;D.

I hear you on the redesign. Program design has been a head scratcher for me because I am so careful of my back. Getting old seems to play somewhat of a roll too. I'm looking forward to what you come up with but more so I'm looking for good news on your recovery.
