Sunday 8/5/7 I have no contest to train for in the foreseeable future so I finally get to do some of the off season stuff I've been trying to get around to for some time now. I took it very easy today. I'm easing back into the gym after beating myself up last weekend and trying to take it easy on my collarbone. (My doctor is mad at me) SquatWarmed up and did 1 set of 7 @ 365. BenchWarmed up and did 1 set of pauses @ 225. DeadliftWarmed up and pulled 3 singles @ 385. Did 3 sets of 10 wide grip chinups. Kneeling SquatsWarmed up and did 1 set of 7 @ 365.

You get knocked down and you just get back up. You're a warrior. I wish I could be more like you but if I stub my toe I'm telling y'all about it! ;D

Preach it Brother Chance!!! I freely admit that, in the presence of PAIN, I have a strong tendency to hike my skirt up and run for the Tall Grass yelling "eeeek" all the way!!! BTW: Anyone notice the Mouse-cursor cut-paste seems to be working again? 3speed, I take my hat off to you, sir...You definitely have the warrior mojo. BTW: Were you at the Martin's Ferry meet with Paul B.

No workout this week. Just didn't 'feel like' going to the gym this weekend. I have learned over the years to pay attention to mental cues.........probably means that my CNS needs a break. I'll see how it goes next week.

Saturday 8/18/07

Deadlift...used 35lb plates. 185 x 5 325 x 3 395 x 1 445 x 2 x 5 sets Supersetted with Kroc rows...100lbs x 8 reps each
Squats 315 x 21.....just had to do it.
Good workout today. No pain from collar bone!!

I am going to be taking a break from lifting............not sure how long the break will last.
I simply have too much on my plate right now. I know I always say that we find a way to do what we want to do and make excuses to get out of doing what we do not want to do but this is how it breaks down for me right me.
I work 70-90 hours a week M-F. My daughter is on the dance team and I only get one shot at watching her grow up. My oldest son is playing football and baseball. And my 13 month old is busy growing up. I have been working out for 2-3 hours on Sunday after church but that is becoming the only time I have to spend with my family as a unit.
When you take all this into consideration and add in the fact I don't do very well on less than 4 hours of sleep a day, it becomes obvious that something has to go.
I am sure I will miss it terribly and find some way to get back to it eventually but until then I will still be lurking around the boards from time to time. If I can help anybody, just send me a PM. I will get back to you as quickly as I can.

You only get one shot to watch the kids grow up so I can't blame you a bit. It's a shame that you have to put that much time in at work but I understand that as well. Your comments are always welcome so lets not make this a going away party. You've walked the walk and coach 3speed can still live on to help mold the next generation of lifters (and old dogs like me!).

Dang. I feel like my right arm has been cut off. Yall, 3Speed isn't just a "board buddy" for me, we also go to alot of the same meets and hang out before, during, and after. I count him as a personal friend in every sense of the word, so this is like a Chuck Norris shot to the guts for me. BUT........ It's the right call. You being a man of integrity and a family man first, it is definitely the right decision. I have no doubt we'll still catch you around the forum, maybe just maybe at a meet once in a while.
Enjoy them younguns compadre!
May GOD richly bless you and your family!
