I have determined that I will not be able to afford the trip to VT in Decebmer for the Worlds. I have many others to think about during the holidays and can't justify that kind of expense right now. There will be another meet.
Onto my new log. I have modified my current training plan and have extended it through February 2007. I will track my progress here.

10/24/06 SQ/DL
Good day today. Starting an adjustment I made in my Squat & Deadlift program. Worked out well today.
BW = 258.....I'm stalling out on my weight loss.
1. Squat: 135x5 225x5 315x5 405x7 430x7 455x7
2. Deadlift: 225x2 315x2 405x7 435x7 465x7
Total workout time = 85 min.
My lower back was spent after this session. Felt good to be so sore.

BUMMER! Although: HONORABLE!
I'll miss getting to see you hit huge PRs, whether as a 275 or a 242, but family has to be #1.
Incredible workout big guy! I reckon your back WAS spent! Excellent.
God Bless.

You'll be missed for sure but it’s well understood. With Florida looking like a potential hot bed for meets you shouldn't have to travel too much anyway.
I’m really running out of thing to say about your workouts. I can only shake my head and grin. Can’t wait for the video!

I'll second that!
Nice numbers man!
Excellent choice too...meets will come and meets will go, but the family remains. Best to keep them happy first!

Hmmmmm.....lucky sevens. Man the video I want to see is you with those boards duct taped to your chest. I hope you wore a shirt - ouch! Other great ideas might be bungee chords, Velcro, and Gorilla Glue.

Hammer - Have you stopped Westside? Will you return to it or have you moved onto something else?

Rick - I'm still using the WSB principles but I am changing my Max Effort days to reflect what has worked for me in the past. I am using a progressive overload in place of the true "ME" days. I will use this format for peaking and then go back to true "ME" days in about 19 weeks. My progressive overload looks like this:
4 weeks of 7 reps 1 week off 4 weeks of 5 reps 1 week off 4 weeks of 3 reps 1 week off 4 weeks of 1 rep 1 week off Start back with true "ME" days

That looks like smart training. Keep yourself healthy and strong. I may have to steal that scheme for the start of the year.
