Deadlift Day
3 sets of Deads after warmup 300 pounds for 3 sets of 8 3 sets chins 3 sets pulldowns 3 sets power rows 3 sets power shruggs 3 sets rope pulldowns 3 sets rope pullthroughs 3 sets fat boy pullups 3 sets Haney shruggs
Done in about 55 minutes. Weights for the ancillary lifts I figure are insignificant as the squat, dead, and bench numbers are really all that matter to me. The others are whatever I feel like I can get away with that day.

Wow that is a lot of working out! Yall must have much better stamina and recoup than I do! I gotta try that cardio stuff, there must be something to that.....
That's a good looking set of pulls. Do you usually decrease the reps as you're ramping up for a meet?
God Bless. Doug

Doug I will continue to lower the reps towards a heavy peak week followed by a week of downloading and a week off prior to the contest. This powerlifting stuff is way easier than bodybuilding, but I can't wait to get on stage for that again next spring!

This powerlifting stuff is way easier than bodybuilding, but I can't wait to get on stage for that again next spring! That really depends on how you are training. Most powerlifting routines are low volume and high intensity. I would argue that, if done correctly, powerlifting workouts are at least as difficult as a body-building routine. If it is easy then you are not pushing hard enough and not using enough weight. Hammer

Hammer, I meant from the perspective of the extreme diet and then taking an entire week off prior to the event. The last week in bodybuilding is make or break. Mentally, powerlifting seems easier too. The workouts rival each other in intensity and difficulty. Plus, not having the extra 90 to 120 minutes of cardio makes it much easier too!

Did chest yesterday. Still can't bench. I tweaked my pec at the last meet and it still won't allow me to bench. Inclines feel fine, but flat benching is very uncomfortable. So I worked around it. If I can do enough to work around it and let it heal I am hoping to at least maintain my current strength level.

Rest that bad boy. It may be too late for ice to do any good, but heck, it's worth a shot!
Hope for a speedy and full recovery!
God BLess.

24 sets in 50 minutes? Great gobs of galloping goose goo! You must have some insane recovery! How much mountain dew did THAT take? :')
Nice workout! Lots of back work to throw in with the deads, good stuff!
God Bless.
