I have been looking for a good supplement program. Right now mainly use just Creatine, Whey Protein and L-Glutanmine for recovery.
Can anyone tell me if they use these supplements and how they preform for them.
Also, is there anything in the Creakic/Gakic/Leukic stack that is banned by the Federation? I am just learning about these types of supplements and don't want to use anything that might cause a problem later at a meet on testing.
One reason I have been looking at these is that some of the powers seems hard on the stomach and looking for more of a pill form. Especially in the creatine category.
Is the cost worth the gains? Or is it just all hype!
Or, is there a better stack program that might work better?
Any comments are welcome.
Jim

I looked all this up on the 'net a few weeks ago. Here's the cliff notes version of what was written. The results are mixed, they worked quite well for some but not worth the money for most. The recommendation was that if you tried the gakic, stack it with the other two for maximum results. The powder evidently is only marginally tastier than possum stew with a side of chitlins in buzzard sauce, and the serving for the tablets is eight horse pills. Don't know about the banned substance list, give this website a shot: www.wada-ama.org/rtecontent/document/list_2005.pdfI'm sure there's a more current list, but I don't have it bookmarked. God Bless!

If you go with gakic, go with the pills. much easier than the powder. YUCK!!!!!! As far as creakic, have not used it, but it is suppose to be cool. None of the three are on the banned list, BTW. good luck. Chad

I tried the Gakic, but none of the others. It didn't do anything for me, in terms of strength or energy for working out. I did have a hard time sleeping on the nights that I took it. I do think I had less muscle soreness when I took it too. It certainly wasn't worth the money, for me personally.

Hate to be a buzzkill, but I always end up going back to the basics; adequate protein, multi-vit/mineral, much rest, hard training. I've tried enough supps to warrant my picture being proudly displayed on the wall of the CEO's office for any major supplement company. However, for any small edge you can get through a pill, I'm a firm believer you could get far more benefit through maximizing nutrition, rest and a smart training program. If most of these really worked, would they need to write a novel on every label extolling how great it is? To each their own, though. I try not to go into "my 2 cents" land but felt compelled this time. (Stepping off soapbox)

Thanks for the input everybody. I have most important meet of my life on March 31st. And I guess I am looking for any edge I can get. Without doing something stupid. I have never taken these type of supplements before and have very little knowledge what might really work. I have been invited to try out for the American Drug-Free Powerlifting Team in Single Event - Bench - Unequipped. Which is part of the World Drug-Free Powerlifting Association. I am just overwhelmed and honored to be even considered. If I preform well - I could slot in to represent the USA in Italy in October. I feel like a kid in a candy store. I just received the invitation on Sunday - which gives me very little time to get ready. I only have about 2 weeks before I have to take my 7 to 10 days off. Their drug testing is extremely strict - so I can't make any mistakes. I am hoping God will give me the strength to preform well. Everybody wish me well. I am going to need any help I can get. Thanks again and God Bless All. Jim

for the money and the amounts you have to take, Muscle Tech isnt worth it at all. You can get the same exact or better results with other supplements that require less doseage and cost alot less.

The Gakic did absolutely nothing for me except deplete my billfold. I use GNC Creatine, L-Glutamine, various proteins, Universal Uni-Liver Tabs, Universal Animal Flex Joint Support (this fixed my knees); Beverly Mass Amino Acid tabs, multi-vitamins, and Tunguska (Russian Adaptogens) and have found this combination of supplements work quite well for me. I do not take any supplements with the exception of protein, liver tabs and aminos on the weekends. Lemme know how I can help.

I'm glad I checked this out. Buddy of mine is taking Gakic and swears by it, but from my point of view I see no improvement or increase in strength. Plus, he still complains about being sore. I thought that was one reason for it, recovery time. I don't have much of an opion on it but I believe like the others said. Smart Training, Good Rest and Good Food will help more than anything. Maybe it's placebo for him? Or maybe it does work? I must admit he is a fad guy and goes with whatever is "new".

As a former rep, avoid Muscletech & all Iovate brands. They use low quality ingredients at a premium price. And, most products they make are truly nothing that we need to be using.
My favorite stack is: FOOD! Whey Protein Isolate Sleep More FOOD! Creatine Multi Vitamin Sleep Still, More FOOD!
Seems to work well for me. Eat Big, Think Big, Get Big.
