I think it depends on what quality the protein is. If your getting 25-50grams out of the powder than the extra 6 grams the egg is providing probably doesn't do much more than make the drink thicker. If your using one scoop and getting 20-25 grams, than I say why not, it might be cheaper in the long run than doubling the portion. I found it makes the drink taste more like a shake, but I also mix in some milk. Almost every BB'er I know advises mixing these with water, so for taste I fill a glass 1/4th with milk, mix in the powder with the water and use the egg as protein security. (I don't think the powder, gram for gram, can match the completeness of the egg for all of the big word technical reasons).

In terms of adding additional protein, raw eggs are an excellent choice to have. In terms of cholesterol levels, raw eggs are a poor choice unless your nutrition is already good and the increase in cholesterol won't affect you.
