I been training for ababut 4 years but started powerlifting ababut a year ago. I know my lifts aren't much but i'm training hard so that i can improve.I do all my lifts raw no belt no straps ... I would be kinda hard with equipment couse i live in Romania.People here don't even know what a bench shirt is ;D ...
Hope to get back with Good News soon(stronger ;D).

Hello, Vic from Romania! Those are excellent numbers! I've been lifting 26 years and the only lift I have that's similar to yours is the squat, so I am hugely impressed! I am very glad you found this forum, and I hope you find it to be very friendly and informative. The folks who post here are great! Lots of great advice, very polite, and they're not afraid to tell you the honest truth but they don't act ugly towards one another. It truly is like a big family.
Just a side note, my son is from Romania. We adopted him in 2001.
God Bless. Doug P.

Hello Vic,
First of all your engllish is very good. Secondly your numbers are also very good. With a little more hard powerlifting training your numbers will grow quickly. DO you do any of the olympic weighlifting training?? I started to incorporate this in my workout about 4-5 months ago and it has helped out quite a bit. I know coming from Romania theat the eastern european cuntries are known for the sport of weightlifting. I consider these guys to be the worlds strongest lifters. To see a 165 lb man to snatch over 300lbs over his head and then squat it up, is just a feat in its self. I am amazed every time I see a video of someone snatching over 300lbs. Keep in touch with the site. It would be great to see 100% raw meets in Romania!!
I am not sure how to post a pic on the site.
Dominic

Hey, Vic and Dom. Bud added my pic in, maybe you could shoot him a message. At worst he might be able to tell you how to do that.

Hello, Vic... Those are some nice lifts for a 250 pound guy, especially if you've only been training for a year. That was a nice deadlift. What size plates were you using? It looked like you had the bar very low to the ground... I wouldn't worry about bands and chains and all that. A lot of raw powerlifters don't bother with them. Good luck with your lifting and keep on posting!

Thancks everyone ! In romania the sport of powerlifting is not very popular but weighlifting is.As for weight lifting training i could not tell you an exact routine but i know for a fact that the romanians train with cycles and a lot of speed work .Like jump squats and all different kind of jumps and sometimes sprints.

Well hello, Sebi! Great to have you here as well! God Bless. Doug P. Hy , i'm a friend of Vic , and i'm doing powerlifting only from January 2006. Before i was doing bodybuilding , but only for myself , not to compete. I have 125 kg , 1.85m , 27 years old. My best lifts are in ths moment 150 kg bench press , 250 kg squat and 250 kg deadlift. (in Romania we use other metric system , not lbs & inch).I hope that my lifts will be improved in the future , despite the fact that i'm not a very good bencher ( 150 kg ~ 330.6lbs), because of my bench tehnique , which is still fixed on bodybuilding style of execution, but i'm working on it .

Hey, Sebi. Those are certainly some respectable numbers! If you have only been training for powerlifting since January, you certainly have some tremendous potential. And since you are only 27 years old, you have many years of lifting ahead of you. I do hope you both enjoy this forum as much as I have. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.
God Bless. Doug

Nooo, i'm not a phenomenon ,Doug. At my body weight (125 kg ~275.5lbs) my lifts are quite not a big deal , i saw bodybuilders who have lower bodyweight and are doing reps with my actual best bench press . It's true that i'm training in powerlifting since january 2006 , but i'm training for bodybuilding since 1994. In Romania we don't have even a powerlifting federation , this sport is at this moment at this beginings ;D It's true , in Romania we have some very good olympic weightlifters, i'm training sometimes with a guy who in the past was a competitive weightlifter and it's very strong for this weight and age ( 48 years old) . I saw Dominic post who ask about weightliters system of training . They work a lot to improve bar speed, but the main thing in weightlifting is the tehnique.

Hey, Sebi. I'll give you a little background about me. I have now been lifting weights for 26 years. Since 1987, my touch-and-go (not competition pause) bench press has gone from 325 to 350. My squat has gone from 425 to 455. My deadlift has gone from 435 to 500. That is over a 19-year period. I have trained mostly alone, and I just started back competing in 2003. My point is, a big guy like you has much more potential for strength than I do, not just because of muscle mass, but because you are 10 years younger as well. You built a very strong core during your bodybuilding training, and that should provide a good foundation for your powerlifting training.
I am personally impressed by anyone who bench presses more than 300, and weighs less than 300. :')
God Bless. Doug

Sebi,
Go to the main page on this website and look under the tab called athletes. There will be a pull down, just click on the ranking and got to either 2005 or 2006. You will see that yours and vic's curret numbers compare very well to the other lifters form last years meets.

Cool graphics! Thanks, Vic. That gives me a lot more information than if you had just typed out a reply. I appreciate that!
Sebi, I doubt anyone is offended, especially since you're comparing yourself to legendary lifters! I still think you guys are very strong, and would be extremely competitive in a meet.
God Bless. Doug
