Hello everybody.
I just recently registered for the board and if it's OK with everyone I'd like to tell you a little about myself.
I just turned 40 and live in the Boston area. A few years ago, I weighed around 300 and now I'm about 210, working to get under 200.
For a few months now, I've been interested in getting involved in powerlifting because while I don't know how good I can be at it, I see it as something where I could always get better and use that as motivation to keep training.
The raw aspect appeals to be because I can't afford to spend a lot of money on gear on my salary and the drug-free aspect appeals to me because for the reasons I want to do this there's really no point in using them. Also, when you want to train to improve your health, why do something that would endanger it?
I train in a commercial facility that probably isn't very conducive to powerlifting training and I'm on the hook there contract-wise until July. For the most part I like the place and it's served me well, however.
While I'm eagerly awaiting the first 100% Raw event in New England, I'm keeping an eye out for any good events in the area that are far off enough that I can have adequate time to train for them and close enough that I'll know I'll have to get going with my training. I'm also playing a little rugby, which is something I did in college. Maybe that's crazy, but it's something I've wanted to return to for a while but for various reasons couldn't until recently.
Anyway, that's who I am and I look forward to being a part of this group.
