My name is Nick Winters and I'm a 24 yr old powerlifter from Indiana. I am looking to make a name for myself in raw powerlifting especially in the benchpress, I competed raw only once so far.

Yeah you definitely need to start competing in the raw bench. 600 raw would have taken the best lift at world's by 30lbs. I know you said you were 24 and competed in the SHW...what is your actual BW, have you ever thought about dropping to 308, 275?
I just recently got into the bench comps. and I've found that there really aren't too many people in the junior division, especially for the heavier weight classes.

I am back to 330 now, but I put a bloat on right before meets to protect myself from injuries and lessen joint pain. I am way to big to cut to 308, and I love being a SHW..........never have to cut weight!

Nick, welcome to 100% RAW. I hope that my comments on the MM forum helped steer you in this direction. I don't think that the Charlie Brown Christmas video is gonna play on THIS forum though. I sure hope I get to see you lift sometime in 06. I know you go both ways (and I don't mean with Wolfey), but when you don't wear the shirt, I hope you lift here. Heck, you oughta talk Mike into joining you, just on a lark. Paul and Shawn, think about it - the addition of ANOTHER 600 lb. raw bencher. And soon, Beau Moore and Nick Minnetti could add their names. Cool!

I will try and talk Wolfe into lifting at a meet, he might do it to try and make his 600lb bench official. We will see!

Paul and Shawn, are you reading? I'm telling you over and over: this could be BIG! Imagine a big ad in PLUSA and MM mags, with a photo taken in the spring. Raw, 600 lb. benchers all in one photo, or a compilation of head shots:
Dolan Winters Wolfe Moore Minnetti
I'll bet it could entice Kennelly and Meeker, and maybe others to check it out. (Some of those guys would have to come from far away, so prize money would make it more tempting.)
No other fed could claim that. Yes, it overshadows the tremendous lifts of: Belk Elliott Bossi Lynch
With no disrespect intended. But from a pure marketing standpoint, it starts from the top, with the biggest numbers. You might even want to convince the Bench America folks to go raw for BA4 (although they want ALL feds invited).
Kaz and Coan run that Atlantis raw BP/strongman comp in NE, and perhaps Capt. Kirk Karwoski could come out of retirement to become involved.

I am sure if you had a money meet in Illinois, Indiana, or Ohio we could get Wolfe to show up. It would be great to compete in a big raw money meet. I also intend to get a 650-665 raw lift in sometime soon, so if you are having a meet around here in feb or march (except during the arnold weekend) I would definately go! I will be competing in a meet in Indiana at the end of Jan but it is unsanctioned, using it as a practice meet.

Another great post Bud. I hope my previous post showed the affection I was trying to convey. I will do my best to spread the 'gospel' of raw lifting.

I would like to help this organization grow. I will be living in FL in about 2 weeks and will have time to dedicate to this organization on a volunteer basis. If anyone is interested, send me an email and we can discuss my qualification and abilitites to help.
