Howdy all. This is my first post here. I'm having trouble finding starting template for raw lifters. I'm completely new to all this and at the moment pretty weak. I am in the process of trying to loose weight. I want to drop down to the 198 class and compete there. I have a lot of weight to drop to get there. I just need a basic starting template that I know isn't influenced by steroids or only provideds results for geared lifters.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. Royce.

Being new to all of this, I would suggest that you try either the madcow or riptoe 5X5 routines. You can research them on the bodybuilding.com forums.

Welcome!
Whatever you decide on, there are some really simple tips that all newcomers need to master, and the more experienced lifters need to keep in the arsenal!
1) always use a spotter 2) warm up properly. Too little is BAD! Too much and you lose workout energy. 3) drink LOTS of water 4) be patient, give your routine time to work 5) supplements are meant to supplement, not substitute
Keep us posted!

Thanks folks, that link and srticle is great. Water is not a problem, I easily drink a gallon a day. Plenty of good whole food is what I shoot for. Protien powder is about all I sup. with. Just for the record I'm ot new to working out, just new to trying to learn about PL and actually gain strength instead of build puffy weak muscle. LOL I will definately keep avery one posted. Thanks again.
