As Beau Moore is the new FLA State Chairman, does this mean he's turning away from the, 'dark side' of WPO-style lifting and joining the raw, 'force'?

I heard Beau's after my record in the SHW! Best of luck to him -- he definetly has the talent to do it. I saw him at the Arnold a couple years ago. He's a monster!
Just to keep things interesting, though, I will plan to lift in Raleigh, NC in February. I'll see If I can't break my record myself. If nothing else, we'll continue to build on the 100% RAW fed totals -- and that's good for the sport, regardless.
I just did a RAW total in a USAPL meet (10/22/05) and hit 2035 on a 6 for 9 day. 2085 was thwarted by a bad day of benching. Oh, well -- that's why you have to do it to get it! Once I get re-acclimated to the RAW lifting, I hope to go over 2100 -- maybe in February. We'll see.
Keep it real and keep it RAW!

Alright! Two great big SHW's going at it head to head! I can't wait to see the two of you in one meet, that will be awesome!
Nick, I had the chance to see you lift at the Stanardsville meet when you set the records. I think having Beau and yourself in the same fed will be great for raw lifting. There's one other guy on this forum that's shooting for a 2100 total, so things are really going to be fun!
God Bless, Doug P.

Nick, I can't seem to find your name in the 100% Raw records pages online. Are they out of date, or should I look elsewhere? How about some stats on yourself? (I'm 48 yo, 334 bwt, 500 raw PR, a Libra, like long walks and cozying by the fireplace.)

Sure-nuff -- the records aren't there.
I saw the bench in the Virginia records, but the squat and deadlift are missing. I think it was the nationals for 100% raw.
I did a 725 squat and 800 deadlift the same day as the 500 bench. This past weekend (10/22/05) in a USAPL meet, lifting raw, I hit 775 squat, 475 (man the bench was terrible!) and 785 deadlift. I'm tipping the scales at 340 and I'm turning 36 next month.
I was actually on track for doing more equipped meets. I planned to hit the meet this weekend in gear, but my partner wasn't able to support me in the cycle -- he had just bought a house and had to fix it up. Knowing I couldn't do gear alone, I decided to go raw. Man, I forgot how much fun raw was. I don't know if I'll ever bother lifting in gear again!
I competed at USAPL Men's nationals in May of this year and hit 2204 in gear. Again, my bench was my nemesis, only hitting 576. The Squat went OK: 859 and the deadlift was OK: 771. The Squat was 4th overall and the Deadlift was 1st. Brian Siders hurt his hand and it dramatically effected his grip, so I was able to sneak one in on him and get first place on the deadlift. I came in 4th overall.

Nice lifting Nick! I'm too lazy to DL and I'm too inflexible to squat even the bar! My lifelong philosophy has been, "never stand when you sit, and never sit when you can lie down". When I found a sport where I could lie down (BP), I knew we were meant for each other!

Nick, I will go over the records from the National meet John Shifflett held where you broke those records. I saw your results but for some reason I think the updates for the meet were lost and I will have to go back over the meet and update the records again. I had some problems with our old server for the website. They crashed and when they were backed up it went to a previous date before the updates. I will look into it and correct it. Sorry for any problems this may have caused. I see this meet in February being a special record setting day with lots of publicity for the federation. This meet will take us to National status and show the rest of the World what 100% RAW stands for. Thank you for lifting in our federation and I will see you on the 11th of February.
