I was just reading the results of a study the Univ of Miss. did on Ray Williams. It concluded that he has about 300lbs of fat-free skeletal muscle which of course is a ridiculous amount of muscle. I'm not even sure that world class strongmen carry that much muscle and they're on every PED known to man. Anyway, the study showed that he nearly scored off the charts, in the context of NFL linemen and sumo wrestlers.
Now here's my question(s): Obviously, Ray's strong on a level that 99.9% of humanity couldn't attain no matter how hard we worked or what lengths we'd be willing to go to, but.......it's also my understanding that it's difficult to build muscle, maintain muscle growth (or both) in a high-fat environment. Considering that Ray Williams has about 25% bodyfat at 400lbs bw, couldn't he actually get even stronger if he lost a few lb's?
I'm not suggesting that the strongest guy around is doing anything wrong in his approach, but really, I don't see how having so much excess fat is an advantage. Yes, I've heard the argument that it can cushion you at the bottom of the squat, etc but come on.....
Thoughts?

My only experience I can input here is that the more "well rounded" I am, the more solid I feel throughout the lift and the more solid I feel, the more likely I am to complete the lift.
