Hey guys got a question for you if your just competiting in the strict curl how would you train? I have some ideas but I like to hear other powerlifters thoughts and maybe take some of them and make a program or if someone has a program I might try. I still train all other body parts but just looking to compete in the strict curl. Thanks for any info

Short answer is treat it like any of the other main lifts, higher weights lower reps. I train curls on the same day as bench but you could place is any where in your workout. You're more than likely already doing any accessory work you would need as part of you other lifts. As another school of thought I know a lot of curlers who only train the strict curls starting about 6 week out from an event. there thought process being that they get all their strength from other movements and only need to condition themselves to do the lift properly.

Thank you for the info I'm thinking about trying the 6 weeks out on a practice run. the competition is next year so I have some time to try things out
