Hi There! I started doing "Starting Strength" for about 4 months and gained in my lifts quite alot (even though the program gets old quickly) ending up with lifts as goes :Squat=410. Bench=290, Deadlift=510. I gave this up and started Bodybuilding which i do love but I just miss powerlifting so much and want to get back into it again but with my own program. After doing alot of research and actually listening to my own body and its needs( there are crap programs everywhere) and just understanding what I need, I have decided to advance myself into a split style P/L program as follows. Monday: Squats/Deads/Rows(I love these big movements on the same day!) Tuesday: Bench/Presses/Cleans/Farmers Walks. Thursday and Friday repeat. I shall be doing some assistance work but not much say pullups and extensions, I want to keep it hard and simple. What do you think and also, with the F/Walks.is this ok to do the day after deads/squats? I feel as if I will have the nergy for this on bench day and not squat/deads. thankyou. Oh I am quite a big fellow at 264 lbs.

Powerbuilding might be of interest to you because it mixes powerlifting and bodybuilding. The major difference is the main lifts generally stay in the 5-10 rep ranges until you are preparing for a contest. I believe Josh Bryant had good reviews on a book he put out on the subject and Stan Efferding has a good article on the subject as well.
No matter what, gains come from nutrition and rest.

Dead lifting twice a week after squatting sounds extreme. I use a two day split also, but one day is power, the other is more power building. If you look at my log, it's only been once a week playing catchup, however soon I'll be going to say a 90% Monday into a 60-75% thursday. Only real difference is I will squat heavy tuesday, but Friday is reserved as either an extra squat, a deadlift, just back or even a day off. This to me is a power/power building way and it has caused significant total jumps between meets for me. Those rep ping days seem to pump blood in and enhance recovery for the next heavy day
