Failed drug test at USAPL Nationals.
I can't say this shocks me, but I was holding out hope.
Thoughts?

What's your source Ryan?
No surprise here. No one is moving that kind of weight without taking something.
I know there are freaks out there, but he just didn't look like someone who wasn't taking.
Anyone that lean and that strong is taking.
I'm not saying someone can't be very strong in that weight class, but he was dabbling in in-human strength at that body weight.
Doesn't matter to me - he's still very very strong - but again - don't go around saying you are drug free when you aren't.

It didn't surprise me a bit. There have been significant improvements in drug testing lately. A lot of the guidelines and workarounds that have worked for cheaters on the past won't work now.
Strong is strong. You still have to put in the work if you are using. My problem is with the people who use PEDs and then compete in a tested fed to win a trophy worth a few bucks at best. Anyone who uses and competes tested is a liar, a cheater, a fraud and a few other things I won't mention here.

Eric: I saw the full drug test report from USAPL for calendar year 2015. Norris tested positive at Raw Nationals in October (I believe it was). Another notable fail was Jamie McDougal also at USAPL Raw Nats.
Woody: I mostly agree with you, in that I maintain a lower level lifter can make a case for ignorance, but given Norris' place in the PLing community, ignorance doesnt fly. That guy shouldnt be drinking bottled water without reading the ingredient label first.
Bottom line, he's strong as Hades but he recently publicly dodged the question of drug use, saying: "I'm not gonna sit here and try to convince the world" which came across to me as an odd sort of copout-type response. I guess now we know why.
UPDATE: He admitted to using CRAZE which is a preworkout with a bad reputation. A couple of years ago, the compound itself was tested and they found methamphetamine-like properties in it. Norris' claim was that he had taken this preworkout in the past and tested clean, so he had no reason to believe he'd test positive. The fact is, anyone at the highest level of their sport needs to use to compete at that level, especially a man among boys like Norris, but for crying out loud man: just be HONEST about it.
Also, let's be mindful of the circumstances and situation here too: just because he was nabbed for taking this stuff doesnt mean he was innocent on all other fronts. Could easily have been taking masking agents to cover further usage. Obviously that's sheer conjecture, but you know what? Because of how this all went down, I think that's a fair supplemental assumption to make.

I really hope that Jesse just took a banned stimulant through stupidity and is not an obviously massive user like Mike O'hearn. Guys like Jesse Norris, Brett Gibbs, Kelly Branton and John Haack really give untested fed guys a run for their money.

I never believed he wasn't on something. I'm surprised I didn't hear about this until now though
