I think I am going to try the Candito linear program (strength/control version). Has anybody used this in the past? If so, what were your thoughts/results?

oldiron, I have never run this routine but it looks very good for someone who is somewhere in the range of advanced novice to intermediate level in their training. In my opinion, there is too much periodization for a true beginner and not enough for an advanced lifter.

Thanks for the input. I lifted in my 20's, stopped for 30 years and am now back at it so I consider myself an intermediate lifter. Plus, the volume looks to be towards the upper end that I can still handle. For the heck of it, I tried the lower body control workout last night and am really feeling it today. Pause deadlifts take some getting used to.

Pause deadlifts take some getting used to. Yes, they do. I have never seen any benefit to rack pulls so I often recommend pause deads to lifters who ask for help with a sticking point. Every person who has actually tried them had to complain to me about how hard they are.

I don't know if these are considered pause DL's, but on the eccentric I'd drop just below the knee caps to almost touching the floor then pull back up again, which makes you stop and reverse from that position. Very very difficult but they help tremendously!

In fact, I believe Jonnie actually makes a similar disclaimer himself. It's definitely a good program though if you're starting new, or coming back from a long layoff. Good luck to you! Ryan
