For me, same as it's been since coming into the sport in 2010: 1500 total @198 That would be an elite total and would win the 220 class at just about any meet. Good luck.

Yea, the last 75lbs toward that total have been tough to come by. Spent most of 2014 battling injury while trying to get stronger and keep form from going in the shitter compensating for injury, so hopefully 2015 produces bigger strides. We shall see. And hey, regardless: My 40th bday is in Aug, so even if I dont get to that 1500# total in 2015, if I reach it any time after 8/26 that will mean I'm officially a master and will make me feel even better about achieving that goal. There aren't many win/win scenarios in this sport, so I'll definitely roll around in that one when it happens. LOL

Squat 675 (50lb pr) Bench 450 (25lb pr) Deadlift 600 (60lb pr) 1,725 total at 275
I think these are fair game by June. Nailed a good 625 squat with plenty in tank last meet (albeit in June 2013)...but then again I rebounded into that one too. Also nailed 400 but jumped too high in bench, but a few months later hit a clean 430 paused in gym. Deadlift best was 540, its my weak link, but I almost always champion the squat and bench. With a little more focus, I think it will start to climb on par now.

1000lb over the next few months. I'm new to PL but figured this was a good goal. BW: 165lbs
Currently: 859lb Squat: 285lbs Bench: 210 (Not bad have having never dedicated time to the bench press) DL: 364lbs
Just started the 915 program to see where that gets me!

BW: 165lbs Currently: 859lb Squat: 285lbs Bench: 210 (Not bad have having never dedicated time to the bench press) DL: 364lbs Just started the 915 program to see where that gets me! 1000lbs as a 1st year goal for a 165 is doable w/some hard work, especially with a strength base that already yields over 85% of that projected total. I am basically translating your numbers to the rough equivalent of what mine would have been a few years ago at my first raw meet, which was after approximately one year of raw powerlifting training: Me (@198)- Squat: 440 Bench: 300 DL: 515 If we adjust for weight difference between us which is a solid 30lbs, you would look like this in the same span of training time: You (@165)- Squat: 371 Bench: 255 DL: 435 Granted, this is making a lot of assumptions about how you train, sticking with the sport, staying injury free, etc. but all that to say these numbers are doable with work and patience. The numbers might look daunting if you're just starting out, but the numbers I hit above qualified me as a "Class 1" lifter in this federation and again were built up to after a year of training, so if you can manage to hit a 1,034 total at a meet this year, that's "Class 1" for a 165. If you're serious about training for the sport, you can definitely do this. Good luck to you. -Ryan

New here, but I thought I'd throw out some goals.
-Compete for the first time -Post at least 1100 total in competition (Current Gym Maxes 425 squat/330 bench/400 dead), reach 1250 in gym total (current weight 270, but trying to slim down to 230-240) -Find a place to powerlift with like minded people

Welcome aboard iceman.
Good luck with your goals - especially competing for the first time. Don't worry about a total the first time. Go with an open mind and open ears and you will learn more that day than in an entire year of training.

Mine was going to be a 5lb PR on my bench. It usually takes me a year to get that, but just achieved last night. www.youtube.com/watch?v=l84vmuuuHRgSo the new 2015 bench goal will be to pause 405 and touch n go 420 at a body weight of 150-155.

My goals for the year are to hit a 500 pound bench and start squating and deadlifting. I've not due to a back injury but I am going to start soon. I'm 39 and have been lifting since Jan. 5 of this year. I will also realize a goal on May 9, competing in my first meet (bench only). Can't wait.

1,200lb total 181lb master @ 42. Only been doing this for a year and a half. First meet last October I broke 1,000, second in December broke 1,100, and third last month I should have had 1,200 came close.

I was just curious what goals people have set for themselves in 2015 I kept mine simple this year. I just want to have a 1400+ total After an absence from the gym for just under twenty years I began to train again last year. Getting back into it wasn't difficult but I was way down from where I had been in 1996 when the gym near my town closed. Here in Maine the options are limited and distance often long. I learned the then current bench press record was 148 pound. I was surprised as that seemed very low, but at that moment in my training (February, 2014) I had all I could handle with a bench at 90 pounds. I was seventy years old then, and 195 pounds. So I began to work and intended in 2015 to enter the competition in Portland Maine in February, 2015. My goal was to at least bench 150 pounds. In February, 2015, I entered the competition in Portland. That was WABDL, and I would be lifting RAW. Results: Lift #1: 155 pounds. Lift#2: 165 pounds (fail: racked too quickly) lift #3: 175 pounds (fail: ratcheted). Lesson learned: ALWAYS accept a hand off. I failed because I lifted as I always lift in the gym where for the most part I am lifting alone. (This was my first athletic competition EVER in my seventy-one years on this planet.) In June, 2015 I again entered the WABDL meet in Portland, Maine. My goal was to push my record up higher and I had eyes on a 200 pound bench. My first lift was 165 pounds. My second lift was 175 pounds. Both lifts were successful and I felt they were very easy. I had worked very hard concentrating on the flat bench. My third lift was a fail at 187.5 pounds. I simply couldn't move the bar off my chest. Since I had set a new state record in my first lift, I was allowed a fourth lift. No question this time: my fourth lift was 187.5 pounds. Lesson learned: EACH lift is your last one: NEVER ever look ahead to the next lift. I also entered the strict curl competition. My strict curl was 95 pounds. So I have hit my goals for 2015. I would like to compete in a RAW event this year but doubt I will be able to schedule the time and travel. I am planning now on my goals for 2016.

I put together an Elite total (and more) this year - in the gym so it doesn't count. I competed twice this year and managed to injure myself in both meets and only finished one of them. Oh, well. I'm a Redskins fan so I'm well versed in the "There's always next year" adage.
