Do you set forward or backwards doing "Lunges"?
I would think lunges would be defined by a forward movement. Which is how I used to-do them, but I saw someone years ago stepping back and I tried that. Stepping back feels so much better for me. Stepping forward and then back always just felt odd and shaky IMO.
I personally hate lunges and think there for girls to shape there butts, but there in a older program Im running and I don't question written programs I just do the work.

I always found I had the most control with walking lunges. I find the forward and backward lunges are hard to do properly rep after rep.

I hate lunges too. I'd much rather do front squats or stiff legs for leg work.

I hate lunges too. I'd much rather do front squats or stiff legs for leg work. I totally agree with you on your preferences. However, there is some benefit to doing single leg work. It forces the stabilizers to work harder and helps prevent injury. To that end, I do single leg presses and standing leg curls. I refuse to do lunges.
