Just an interesting question my coach asked me before. What is your favorite main lift (Squat, Bench,Deadlift, Overhead Press,Front squat etc) and what is your favorite assistance exercise to train?
For me it would be Deadlifts and flat bench dumbbell presses.

Sumo dead and pause squats, in that order.

Squats as main lift and conventional deads as assistance.

LoL – 3Speed That’s cheating – you basically picked to main lift (although I have done heavy squats followed by light deads as assistance work and vice-versa. )
I have to go with squats also as the main lift. I don’t know it if counts as accessory work but I do like train with the yoke or farmers.

I figured I would get that reply from someone. I deadlift sumo and I find conventional style deads to be one of the best assistance exercises for my main sumo style.

LoL – I just had to give you a hard time. I actually agree with you and I think deadlifting sumo is as different from deadlifting conventional as a back squat is from a front squat. It changes the whole dynamic of the lift.
