www.marylandpowerlifting.com/page.asp?contentID=48I am strongly considering trying this out starting today, instead of doing another Coan/Phillipi routine right on the heels of the one I just finished. Let me know if anyone has input on this, tried it before, etc. -Ryan

I don't have any input...but I also don't have a deadlift plan. I'll run it with you. Thurs-Sat, one of those days, Ill give it ago. I need the practice, have always either neglected buckling down on a deadlift program, or went overboard. Coan and Phillippi was too much for me, using other movements didn't seem to give any real boost (like good mornings, etc.)

Sounds good George.
I started running this program yesterday based on a 630 max (I should be good for more than that, but I learned my lesson from programming right to 100% in prior training cycles on squat!).
Anyway, I'll update my training log with the details, but I guess the fact that I DL on Mondays works to your advantage because you'll always get an update as to what's in store for you a few days before you DL! lol

Ryan
I have done a slight variation of this program for 3 cycles. My sets, percentages and rest breaks were slightly different but the one rep philosophy was the same. Being 58, I liked the fact that the volume was not overwhelming (that is what scares me about Coan/Philipi which I am considering trying) but the program was challenging due to the short rest (my max rest was 2 minutes when I got up to 90% of 1RM) between sets. My 1RM went up after each of the first two cycles, but not after the third. Perhaps I didn't hit the assistance work hard enough.
Good luck
Don

A very cool article. Reading it makes me wonder if I haven't been overdoing it with regards to warmups. I will certainly implement this tomorrow...
