8 weeks since i switched to arch bench training and added sumo deadlift training.
I thought i tried a meet.
it kicked my butt in a lot of ways.
USAPL Seattle Summer Classic
I placed second in my weight.
Squat
150 kg
160 kg
182.5 kg miss. i went down past parallel. and then i couldnt get up lol. i messed up somewhere. maybe my toes or i didnt breath in. I was super nervous on all 3 attempts of squat. having a crowd of people in front of me while i was gassy kinda got me. i couldnt remember my form set up before or after each attempts.
Bench
125kg miss. head went up as i lowered the bar
130kg miss. i racked before the command
135kg stayed light weight to get my number in at least.
Deadlift
195 kg
205 kg
215 kg pr
i was super gassy from the meal after weigh in.
deadlift was the only thing went according to plan. though 215kg i got with wrist straps before. all three deadlift attempts was easy even the 215kg.
i drop from 183 to 163 in 3 weeks. im pretty sure it was only 5 lbs of fat i burned. bad weight management. i signed up for the meet 4 weeks out. was driving all day the day before the meet. made the mistake of booking a hotel that was 1 hour and 30 minutes away from the meet.
i weighed 166 according to scale i used in the morning of the lift. so i ate nuts and powerade until weigh in.
weigh in was schedule at 1230. but got pushed to a little after 1pm.
made the mistake of eating at mcdonalds accross the street.
lifting begin at 2
i was super gassy through out my deadlift and bench. i felt soggy too. felt sorry for the lifters around me but i mostly just bombed on my friend who sat with me.
the week before the meet at 168. i semi maxed out to see my numbers.

335 bench pause with commands
455 deadlift with 4 second hold
all was pretty easy so i was gonna use it as 2 attempts for all 3 lifts
original plan

ended doing dirt digging(10 holes, 32inch by 32inch, 24+inch deep) concrete work the week before the meet and then dirt shoveling tuesday and wednesday of this week.
there was also the evil crossfit curse. The meet was held at a crossfit gym. the crossfit trainer was giving me tips on my form between my sets.
i listened to him but it was pretty confusing.
he told me that doing wide squat is not good because it doesnt engage the glutes and hamstring that well.
he insisted that i go closer then shoulder width and pointed my toes out to engage my glutes and hamstring more.
i switched from shoulder width to outside my shoulders for a wider stance but not sumo. i thought wider stance was to engage more of the glutes and hamstring. i also did sumo deadlift to help train more of my hamstring and glutes (I thought)
the crossfit trainer there was also with his whole crew and some of his athletes were in my lifting groups.
