If you work out in one of those gyms, like the YMCA, that frown on chalky messes, but you can't afford the expensive liquid chalk, you can make your own liquid chalk a lot cheaper than buying it. Get a block of regular chalk (magnesium carbonate) and shave it down to a powder. Mix in 90% rubbing alcohol until you get a smooth pasty liquid. Put in a travel squeeze bottle with a flip top lid. (You can get 5 bottles like this at WalMart for $2.00). Shake it up when you use it. Put a dab in one hand, then rub your hands together. Let the alcohol evaporate and you have chalked hands. Not as good as caking on regular chalk, but should keep the gym off your back when training heavy.
