I dont know how many members there are in the 100% Raw Powerlifting Federation...Lets say its 2,000 {Im pretty sure its more}, but using this number if each member recruited 2 people this year {friends, family, co- workers, other gym members}to become members, that would raise the total membership to 6,000!...
Lets get it started here on this forum site...I know there are not many people who write here, but there are more who read and just dont write. But, whatever the number is lets each make a pledge to put forth the effort to recruit at least 2 new members this year.
What do you say?
What if 100% Raw started a membership drive and gave rewards as incentive to those who recruited members?...Maybe a free entry to 1 event if you recruited 4 members in a year?

I can get behind this. While I can’t say that I’ve recruited 2 people a year I have gotten people involved. My main selling point is that powerlifting is a family sport. I’ve been to meets where 3 generation of lifter compete together.

dbunch... What do you think about the incentive of recruiting 4 new members and getting a free event entry?...I think Paul would go for this, afterall membership is $30 times 4 would be $120 and a event is around $60, so it could be a winning situation for everyone...Paul could send out a email, possibly with a newsletter to notify everyone of the promotion...They could add a referred by line to the membership application...

I bet Paul would like that idea!
But I personal would have an issue taken the money, and this is why. I love promoting the sport, until it comes down to telling the newbees what the meets cost ,anywhere from $80-$120 bucks, it's just emberrings IMO. And please dont give me the break down on the cost to run a meet, Im not buying it, or these "Fed Fees" but I'm getting off track........ Anyway so now I've signed up the family of 3 to do there first, and lets be honest only meet, newbee dad just shelled out $200+ bucks for him and his two kids. He turns to me, boy that was a lot of money, and I say your not kidding, but at least I got in for free.......ha. Not a chance in Hades, Im taken the Fed blood money, ok that was a bit over the top but you get the point.

Here's a second thought because I saw you linked this topic with helping the sport grow. Two ideas, that we all know will help grow the sport, but won't happen.
1.) Wave the "Fed Fees" for first time lifters. 2.) Add discounts for multi-family members under the age of 18. 3.) Omit the redulous "crossing over" fee, whomever thought of that idea I bet thinks he/she was pretty clever.

Well, I dont think every new member would lift only once. If that was the case we wouldnt still be here...lol...Also, you only lift a few times a year, the rest of the time you are training...Ever add up the cost to go bowling every week?, or tennis and golf lessons, rec league hockey {where a kids stick alone sells for over $150}, cost to attend a ballgame...I know there are cost associated with powerlifting as well, but those can be looked at also. Not everything can always be done at once. I think Powerlifting is comparable to other sports participation cost {and I think there are ways to even reduce the cost}, to me it seems oppurtunity frequency is the big thing to look at...And also the new member could now recruit also to save money on a future event... Recruitment of new members is the goal, more so than the free event. The free event is a incentive for some and a reward and or compensation for your efforts to others, quess it depends how you look at it. I think multi family members discount could be obtained, and I agree with you on the way some Chairman do the crossover fees, but then again to crossover from age group to open is a choice the lifter makes...Maybe a free crossover for new lifters?
