Well I have not posted much since my October Stroke...got the green light 3 months ago to lift without restriction so I, not being suicidal started slow and light 40 lb DB shrugs 100 lb seated rows and a light arm routine. I have worked my way down the DB rack to the 125s and back to the bottom of the stack on the seated rows so I feel good enough to post my training again. read my last post if you haven't and please remember what I said about health symptoms and never ignoring what the body is telling you. I saw a guy younger than me leaving the Y as I arrived, he was using a wheeled walker.... I realize just how close I was to being that man!
Today I deadlifted for the first ime since Oct. I train with Zack, a young version of myself, he does not know just how much he has and how strong he will become training with me. clearly a blank canvas. so we deadlifted and here is my load.
Deadlifts: 135 x8, 150 x 6, 200 x 8, 280 x 5, now here is where I wanted to stop as I want to not stress my head, BUT it felt light, so, 340 x 1, 380 x 1, and 400 x 1. I was stoked no DL since Oct and I pull 400! I told Zack I was stopping so as not to press my luck, but I swear I could have pulled 475!
Tricep rope push downs 40 x 10, 50 x 10, 60 x 10, 70 x 10.
hammer curls x8 at 40, 45, 50... good time to mention I had shoulder surgery last June 21 and wa out til mid Aug. then as I had my stroke I fell on my recovering shoulder.....so I am still bearing the pain from that day, bench is non-existent and any press motion but oddly I did..
DB overhead tri extensions x 8 with 70, 80, 90, 100.
I am glad to be back and thankful to God and friends who prayed for my recovery. Strength and Honor!
